How to Update/Upgrade Firmware Typhoon H & ST16 Controller 

Thanks. Your video was very well done, and helped me tremendously! I had problems at first, the ST16 not seeing my card. I did as you suggested by formatting the card using the ST16, then, I downloaded the firmware upgrade again. This time everything worked flawlessly. I'd recommend anyone having issues to re- download the firmware cause it may not work the first time around. Just keep at it using this very valuable video as your guide, and it'll eventually work. Through much research, I've finally found the answer, as well as the cause of my problem (as well as anyone else who's having the same problems). While the CGO3+ camera does support up to 128GB cards, the ST16 supports ONLY up to 32GB cards. Thanks to several people who had the same question on rcgroups.com, thr correct answer was found. So, to anyone reading this, remember this: CGO3+ camera: 128GB maximum capacity, FAT32 or exFAT formatting ST16: 32GB maximum capacity, FAT32 formatting

Thanks so much for this excellent "how to" video. I have two (2) Typhoon H sets and just a note, after upgrading the first one, it added the usual folders to the SD card. When I tried doing the second H, it would not do it. I had to delete everything, empty trash, re-copy the firmware update file for the H and then re-insert the SD card onto the CGO3. After that, all went well. Thanks again and happy flying!

i also had to rebind everything, was in a bit of a panic, thought i had bricked it after only purchasing it from you the day before :)) in my case only the cg03+camera showed up, but after a few refreshes the model appeared as well:) after putting it into binding mode by tilting it forward twice at 45 deg angle, but alls good now, did a flight down at grey mare waterfall in Moffat. thanks again see you again for another battery and back packs when they come :p

Thank you for the in depth info for firmware updates. Your video provided information about entering Team Mode, not referenced in the factory H manual or in the Yuneec tutorial video, , which permitted my system to complete an update it otherwise would not. Had you not made this video my H would still be relegated to a paper weight state.

im updating right now... but one cool feature that they add, was the percentage of the battery on the top right ST16... i tried to get that in the developer menu... without any results... and now they updated... cool...

Do you have to use an SD card or can you plug your computer directly to the unit after you download the software?

this! I tried 3 times to update, first with a 32GB SD card, then with a 8GB card, to no avail. Finally, I had a 16 GB SD card, redid the entire process, and Viola! now it worked. I don't know if that makes a difference but maybe it needs to be a 16 GB SD card!

There isn’t any support for typhoon H, only H plus. Does anyone know if you can use H plus firmware for Typhoon H?

I really don't see what the improvements are...what features or benefits have you noticed?

Iv been trying to update the firmware on my typhoon H control and drone with no luck! Will the software install using a Apple MacBook ? I've formatted and downloaded the firmware to the micro SD card 4 times using a apple MacBook and a Windows 8.1 laptop and the st16 controller by following this video writing on screen but that also did NOT work, I now don't no if there is another way to update the firmware? Maybe the USB lead plug to camera and controller from laptop? Any help on this would be much appreciated? Thanks

I have updated the drone sucessfully, but when I atempt to update the ST16, I keep getting the same "Upgrade package not find!" error message. I downloaded the file (ST16_V3.1.22) from the website, placed it on the same 64GB microSD that I used for upgrading the drone's firmware (after performing a quick format, as this is not the same microSD card I'll be using for recording videos), and followed all othr steps...but, again, with the same failure message being received every time. I did happen to notice the "SD card" icon in the upper-right hand corner of the screen shows "N/A", although I don't know if that's in reference to the ST16's microSD slot, or the microSD slot on the drone (which is turned off). I've also gone so far as to try updating the ST16's firmware with the microSD card inserted into the drone, but that also produces the "Update package not find!" message. So, HOW do I update the ST16's firmware?

I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED. I CANNOT EVEN OPEN CAMERA SETTING. CONNECTION FAILED 7 TIMES. IT WILL NOT CONNECT TO CAMERA. BINDING FLASHES GREEN. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ? THANKS K

ST16 will not update, I keep getting the same error, update package not found. Using a 16GB card formatted to FAT32. Any suggestions?

hello ... i think i did everything right but now the st16 doenst detect the drone ... someone can help ?

Has anyone experienced the H not starting the motors despite following the upgrade process meticulously, performing the calibrations (both in the hidden menu and the compass/accel)? The drone shows as bound, camera works fully, GPS never acquires, when I put the craft in H mode and attempt to start without GPS, i get 3 beeps but no motors start. Top left says ready and briefly display "start"; but motors don't spin. I have tried replacing the compass/gps module once, same results. All light indications display correctly when switching modes. I am at a loss and seem to have exhausted all the youtube help vids as well as have tried to contact yuneec. Because I'm out of warranty they told be to kick rocks. Also tried leaving it in open field in a previously flown area before to regain GPS. Nope.
