How to upgrade Gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard BIOS | Over Clocking is possible with new BIOS

How to update the bios of Gigabyte A320MS2H motherboard using Q-Flash. With updated BIOS you would be able to Over Clock your processor and RAM. You can directly run the bios update within the windows by double clicking the .exe file. Here I used a USB Flash drive to flash my BIOS.

The whole BIOS updating procedure should be treated with extreme caution. If you do not encounter any system instability or bugs with the current BIOS version, we suggest that you keep it. If you determine to flash BIOS, you are taking a personal risk of BIOS flash failure.

You don´t need to copy/paste all the files into the USB, just the first file with the .F32 extension.

Hi I wanted to change my PCI latency but I couldn't find where to do it on this BIOS, I have the f52. Do I need to update my BIOS or I am simply not searching in the right place? Can't overclock. Only CPB works 3.1 to 3.45 GHz all-core boost. I can't pass above all-core 3.45 GHz with Ryzen 3 1200 AF. RAM overclocking already works.

Got a Gigabyte a320m-s2h rev 1.1 and already updated the bios accordingly. But still my ATHLON 200 GE's speed in MSI & in task manager shows almost or just right about 3.2 Ghz. Can I still be able to overclock my APU? I think I have done it all right, regarding to updating.

OC depends on your VRM's capability. As this is a cheap board you will only get 100-300 Mhz boost depending on the processor. Also you have to disable AMD cool and quite feature.

First you have to upgrade to F32, then you can upgrade to F40. Find the pinned comment for specific processor related bios version link of gigabyte website. I am using F52a with Ryzen 5 1600, although this is not the recommended version. But for 3rd gen processor you should use the recommended version, otherwise your system won't detect the processor.

Yes, you can upgrade your CPU, but once updated, you can not downgrade. And F55 won't support 2200g processor.

Install gigabyte app center and then update bios from it. It will automatically find a suitable bios version for you, and you don't have to use a pen drive for updating the bios.

If your system runs fine then there is no need to upgrade the BIOS version. New versions are for latest CPU supports and might not support pervious generation CPU once you upgrade the BIOS.

You must format your pen drive with FAT 32, and then upgrade to F40 version first. Latest versions may not support your CPU.

Can i downgrade my bios version? And if im changing from a r3 1200 to r5 5500 on that motherboard do i need to install all of those updates separately? Enable XMP profile and set RAM frequency at 3200 Mhz. CPU over clocking may not work as the VRMs are not powerful.

New stock comes with updated bios. But for older stock you have to upgrade bios with 1st or 2nd gen CPU. This is the only way.

My CPU (R5 1600) does not have iGPU so I can't verify with my desktop. But in laptop I use Ryzen controller to boost vega 8, also you can use MSI after burner to OC iGPU from windows.

OC depends on processor type, plus you will hardy gain any improvement because of the limitation of VRM. RAM OC works fine though. @bios might be risky in case of internet failure, so it it always safe to use pen drive.

Im in the same state as you i want to update so it can hold a ryzen 3 3300x so what i would do is update to the F32 and then to the latests. Also when you type the motherboard name into Google in my case it will show up gigabyte then click the first link that shows, then support, choose your operating system and where it says BIOS+ and will list all possible updates

5000 series requires F55 bios, check your bios version first, if it is F40 then update it to F55.

thanks for wanting help, but I have the same disc as the one on the recording. It depends on your processor, check video description for Gigabyte website link. The table mentions the required BIOS version for the respective processors.

Ah it's quite alright :) I was using the Ryzen 5 2600, after flashing the bios to F56a I was able to then use a Ryzen 7 5700X. Seems solid too and the temps don't go above 70 Degrees Celsius as the TDP is the same at 65W. @@tryitstd

I am using R5 1600 processor. What bios version did you upgrade? From BIOS version F32 it supports all 3rd gen ryzen processors. Restore defaults from save and exit tab of bios. If this doesn't fix your issue then upgrade/downgrade to another BIOS. F40 is also stable.

What is your current bios version? You need F40 bios for 3rd generation cpu. If you already have this version installed, there is no need to upgrade.

@@ageofreakon7940 Bios update is needed only for 3rd generation processors. 2600 is second generation, so the board will support it without BIOS update.

Yes, RAM over clocking will work fine, but processor may not get over clocked to its full potential due to VRM limitation. This depends on processor model, for 3rd gen processor precision boost will work fine.

A320M does not have rev 1.2. But new version has all the features of old modes with some new featureus.

F40 supports R3 3200G. So, bios update is not necessary. But if you want to have the latest bios then you can update.
