If you have spare servos, a cheap esc and receiver laying around, this 'cheap' 1/18 scale rockcrawler can really shine. I've upgraded mine with a cheap HobbyKing brushed esc, a compact 2s 1200 mah lipo meant for electric planes, a proper standard servo and a specktrum receiver. This thing now has some serious crawling power and it took me maybe an hour to do the upgrades. Disassembly is SUPER easy, everything is screwed together from the factory, so you shouldn't have to cut or destroy anything on the body or chassis. One thing to mention, if you are using a 7.4v battery you will need to set the throttle trim or max throttle to ~50% so you don't burn out the motors. They MAY be able to handle 7.4v for awhile but I believe they will probably overheat with extended runs since they are rated for 3.8v I believe.

can you explain the diff between p1801, P1802 and P1803 ? according to some sellers it's just about colors, Red , Blue, Green. But some sell red 1802 or blue 1801. And then what is this P1803B ?

There are a couple people upgrading these 1/18 crawlers with 20A ESC's, better transmitters with proportional throttle & steering...but they leave the piss-poor suspension alone. It's not really much of an upgrade if the car still bounces all over the place. You can search Amazon for part # 736092, these are adjustable oil-filled aluminum shocks. They have the exact same 63mm length eyehole-to-eyehole, and exact same compressed 50mm length...and only require minor modifications to bolt on in place of the original el-crappo shocks. Don't go to all the trouble and expense to upgrade your electronics and radio gear and leave the sh!te shocks untouched.

Agreed. I upgraded the electronics, battery as well as the suspension and steering linkage on one of these for my daughter. Agreed, I've seen a few videos of people upgrading the radio electronics in these crawlers, but the original shocks are just terrible. It's not really a workable upgrade until you improve the piss-poor suspension.

Just look for some 70 mm shock and find some .08 thickness springs and you should be good

It is so simple connect servo 3 wire to any channel then connect esc 3 wire to any channel connect battery to the esc and enjoy your upgraded car.

Exchange servo and esc three wire and then check again if it's not work that mean your servo has been damaged.

Bro Esc are of two types For Brushed Motor and for Brushless Motor You can use Brushed esc:)

For Bigger Motor Bigger Esc is required. Use Esc According To Maximum Current Rating of Dc Motor. For Ex-If Your Motor Need 25 Amp Max Current So you should use 30 Amo Esc and Greater Then 30 Amp's.

No! Because we can't control our Motor Remotely. So,You Should Use Breshed ESC. Usually Boost Buck DC-DC Converter is used for Manual Control,Like to control Motor for Drilling,Cutting etc.

I think you can't because bldc motor are not available in the size that we want... but you can upgrade it with other high power brushed motor :)

No! Here required only 2 channel transmetter and reciver , one for servo and another one for Dc motor. if you have 2 or more channel gun transmetter so it is the best.
