The Plus Upgrade kits transform your "base" model RO/DI to the more feature rich Plus series. Follow along today as we install them!
The Plus Upgrade kits come with a TDS meter, pressure gauge and flush kit. The TDS meter will measure the total dissolved solids, which is a relative measure of water purity coming out of your RO system as well as your DI resin which is ultimately the water you are using. The pressure gauge measures water pressure entering the RO membrane which should ideally be around 50 PSI. The flush kit is basically a bypass for your flow restrictor on your membrane. This will drastically increase the flow over the surface of the membrane and flush deposits off which can hurt longevity, water quality, and water production from the membrane.
Installation is pretty simple, to begin we'd recommend laying down a towel to catch any potential spills. The Flush kit installation is as easy as pushing in the push-connect collets on the flow restrictor and removing it and then replacing it with the new flush kit. It does matter which direction you install it so make absolutely sure the flow arrow is pointed away from the membrane.
To install the pressure gauge, locate the feed line on your RO membrane which is the side which is the on the cap side of the housing which only has a single line entering it. If this is a BRS system it will likely be red. Just clip this line and push both ends into the tee on your pressure gauge.
The TDS meter installation can appear pretty daunting, but in reality is actually pretty simple. The first step is mounting the monitor. Use the included Velcro stickers to mount it somewhere easy to see and insert the probes into the push connect tees. One probe is labeled in and the other out. On the back of your system locate the line feeding the “in” of your DI canister, clip that line and insert each end into the tee labeled “in”. Now locate the line coming out of your DI, clip it and insert each end into the tee labeled “out”. Once that is done bundle up the excess wire and secure it.
Once everything is installed check for leaks and you are done!

I installed the pressure guage between the booster out and membrane in, and I'm reading 0 on the pressure guage. I'm pretty sure due to the booster is triggered off that's why the guage is showing 0 psi. Is that correct. How do I know when the booster turns on

When the booster pump is on, you should be able to feel the pump vibrating. Even without a booster pump, your pressure shouldn't be 0 psi when water is flowing. If that's the case, then it sounds like you may have a faulty gauge. If this was purchased from us, just give our customer service team a call and they'll be able to help you out.

If I have a booster pump should i still aim for 50 psi. I thought i heard 90 was ideal for some reason.
