Jay, this is the second time I’ve watched this video. I’m on a Yamaha FJR, and do my own work. You impress me with your workmanship and attention to detail. I’ll probably never put one of these in my bike, the HD platform just isn’t my cup of tea, but I do like what I see. I watched your vids and a week later I ordered one of the stage4 plug n play systems. It works great!! So much better than the Rockford system i had installed on one of my other bikes. I just bought the HDHU-14+si head unit today, the MRR idatalink, and the Sirius XM module for my 2016 HD Ultra Limited. I bought this bike last year and it was all stock and was considering buying the newer Harley head unit. Then I happened to see your videos on uTube and they changed my mind. I was more than surprised to find out from your tech support fella that the head units are now in the States and you should be receiving them next Monday or Tuesday. So I should get mine before long. But I haven’t made my decision yet on which amp and speakers I want to purchase, so I will be calling you again before long. Thank you for your hard work, Merry Christmas and may God continue to Bless you and your family.

Update: I decided to order the Precision Power 6.5” speakers as well as the Precision Power 800W MAA4.400 amp to go along with my new Soundstream HDHU.14si head unit. Even though I’ve had it for a few weeks now I’m just starting the install. And if someone would have told me a few months back that I would be doing this install myself I’d have probably told them that they were crazy. But thanks to your first class videos, here I am, the bike is in a hundred pieces (not really) but I’m diving in thanks to you and your team at Volunteer Audio. Well wishes to all.

Hi Jay! I’m not ready yet, but have already decided you will be doing my upgrade. (Probably next spring) I haven’t seen you do an 8 speaker video yet, which mine will be, so maybe you’ll want to video mine?? It’s an ‘18 ultra that got the Rockford upgrade for the fairing and tour pack. Still wasn’t happy so a friend added the lower fairing and bag lid speakers. It’s loud, but sounds terrible, plus I really want that Soundstream radio! I really appreciate all the information you provide so please keep the videos coming! I look forward to meeting you. I think it was a mistake but all the fairing screws are t27 but other then that love the video thanks for taking the time to do the video

Some are t27, some t25 but if you use a t25 you can get them all with one tool

Jay, I’ve been watching this video a couple times cause I’m going to be doing this install, but to my CVO Road Glide. I’m getting conflicting information if he CVO’s come with a boom ii from the factory? I noticed that you included plugs for the factory harness in the kit I purchased so I’m a little confused. So if your add the stage 4 kit to a 2023 street glide with factory radio, you do the speaker wiring the same? Positive to negative and negative to positive?

If you use our hertz sp4.900 amp we added a rear connector at the amplifier to keep polarity correct, no need to swap polarity if you use the hertz amp and plug into the backbone connector on the amp harness

Hi,i ordered a Soundstream HD Si, my HD is a street glide 2017 with the Boom box GT , but i istalled 4 years ago, the stage 2 boom audio with the 2 amplifiers of HD.For the installation, should i just need to plug the new radio, and does it work with sage2 boom audio and HD amp? thank you. I am in France.

We always use a larger 4 channel amp so we can add more speakers in the future without starting over

If you have one speaker wired out of phase you will not have good bass, turning bass up in the radio causes distortion also and does not increase output of bass

6x9” speakers handle more power, more abuse and have more bass, it’s tremendously better

real good info so i can install myself, a bit far to come from OZ. do you have a kit of Hertz 2000w SP4.900 with Infinity Kapp perfect 600x 6.5 x4, which i want to install on my 2020 CVO trike, i will take out Harley D 4 speakers and 2x amps, i have Soundstream HDHU.14si head unit already. $$$ ?

The infinity speakers cannot handle the power of the sp4.900, if you want to use the larger amp you will need to use hertz speakers as well. There is no GPS antenna, this radio uses apple CarPlay or android auto for maps from your phone, so it also uses the gps signal from your phone

Basically your going too have to change the entire boom2 system. That’s gonna cost another $4,000 if you want 6 speakers

Do you guys ever have issues with the precision power cut in kit not lining up with the Hertz 6x9’s? I’ve got the exact same components and it just doesn’t work. Anyway, just got the rental flash tool from you guys today and am waiting for the amp I ordered from you guys. Can’t wait to get it all in, when I figure out the 6x9’s.

That’s funny you said upgrade the boom2 , because there’s no upgrades For those speakers. The new boom headinit is a OEM unit. Your aftermarket speakers doesn’t work with the boom amps and speakers. Harley designed it that way. They were afraid of smoking the wires and ecm/bcm

This video shows how to upgrade to much better speakers and amps, the factory system was designed to blow speakers when loud enough to hear, they purposely designed it to require you to buy more speakers from the dealer and blow those also, once you get tired of continually buying speakers we have a much better solution, yes they call the radio boom gts, this video is referring to the boom stage 1 or stage 2 speakers and amplifiers

Why do you charge so much to rent a flash tool if Harley will do it for 75 bucks?

Your local dealer is charging $75 to do the wrong flash, in 2019 Harley locked the dealership tools to only flash amplified flashes if their computer sees a factory amp on the canbus data lines. Also TechnoResearch charges $129 license fee every time our tool is used. Your dealership is flashing with a non amplified flash that has a terrible bass boost / eq problem and will have a distorted input to your amplifier. They will call it a Rockford flash to make you feel better but it is the 4 speaker non amp factory flash which is not useable with our amplifiers

Thank you, yes the HDHU14SI would be a great radio for your Harley, currently the custom gauges do not work on 21-22 models, there is an update coming that will make them functional
