Thanks for sharing this. Your speakers are great. I have wondered about Paul's book so I might get one based on your experience. In my experience I have had better results by just moving things around than when I introduced new gear. My room is a family room with a television and is an odd rectangle shape. It is difficult to find a compromise that works.
Yeah - moving things around is good too. I found amazing looking at some of the "viewer systems of the day" at the Audiophiliac the difficult spaces that many people need to work with.
Nice video and on point. Many people ignore room correction and heavily misjudge how important it is, like gain matching. From my own personal experience, I really encourage you to save up for stands; mine were made using a machine shop with 4 square tubings filled with sand at the height I had chosen; got them made by a welder at around 200$ for the pair in all (excluding needle feet and decoupling rings). It made a gigantic difference
I hear ya. My speakers aren't even facing me directly at the moment. I can't have them out in the room where they sound best because the listening room is the family lounge room. They sound terrible up against the back wall so they're about 1.5 meter into the room. One speaker facing the wall, one facing backwards. With the volume up it sounds really good. It's like walking around in a bubble. The soundstage is a ball that I walk around in rather than the soundstage being in front of me. I could reach out and touch the instruments sometimes. Whatever works. At least I get to listen to the system. A lot. Maybe 20 hours a week. Like you my room is a small cube. Built in the 50s. In Melbourne.
@@audionautica6843 . No, thank you! I came across your channel last week when looking for q 405 rebuild info. I'm looking to buy one. I've got an ad posted in stereo net 'wanted to buy'. I'm really looking forward to hearing one. Take care. Mark.
Even though I now feel I found the best placement for my speakers, I feel I've lost a little bit of solidness from the centre imaging but boy with it's new placement the soundstage imaging certainly makes up for it. The only problem is I practically have to dodge them every time I walk into the kitchen from my small 13 × 11.5ft livingroom. 😂 If interested you can see what I mean within this short 3 minute demo... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-B3kjyLvwA.html
