So many helpful tips and easy to understand. Thank you so much. I was so disappointed to discover how low the storage capacity is out of the box but I now know how to pick add-ons to increase capacity at a reasonable cost. I am 86 years old and appreciate that you are able to review and deliver tips that even a non-tech like myself can understand and follow.

I now have the M1 iMac 24" with the larger hard drive, ethernet, extra fan, but did not get the additional ram. This is by far my favorite experience on any computer. I do my job on Windows and have an Acer laptop. But my personal use has always been apple products. I have owned multiple Macs since the the 512K Mac. But the last 10 years I have only used MacBook laptops for personal use. Using this M1 iMac has been a joy, everything is so bright, clear and responds instantly.

I really like this since I am working from home i want to use it ... but once in a week i do visit my office so can't take it along with me as its not a laptop. So i was thinking to use Onedrive to put all my work stuff there so whenever i visit my office i can use my windows laptop and access the documents from OneDrive which i used in my mac. Its mainly excel and Word docs. In your experience which is a better option?

@@sarathm7808 Using a Mac should work fine. In addition to the Mac you will need Microsoft's Apple version of Excel and Word. Note that these Apple versions look more Apple, than Microsoft, but offer all the same functions. Or use Microsoft's free web version of office which is clunky. Also, order the Apple extended keyboard and select the function keys in Mac Keyboard Preferences for accessing Windows key functions. Lastly, verify with any office technical support that they will support Mac for remote use. If they will not support using Apple, maybe keep the laptop?

Thank you very much indeed 😊 Can’t wait for my blue iMac (16Gb RAM 8/8 core) to arrive next month for my 71st birthday. My old one has done a decade worth of great service - I also remember buying the very first Mac with floppy discs (oh dear ! You had to work that hard - one disc in for system and application, eject, another disc in to save, eject 😂 and so it went one. ‘Good old days ‘ - no, no , no 😱)

Younger than you … but not young! As a granny, can def relate to your comment. Waiting on silver 16 GB 8/8). I recall our office admins typing our memos and using 12 inch floppies!!! Can also recall the old green and white stripe paper with the perforated holes on the side 👩🏾‍🦳

I bought my first Mac in 1986. I wish I spent as much on Apple stock then as I spent on that computer. We use to call that disk swapping process toasting. My new blue iMac is due this week....!!

I just ordered this one! So excited to get it. My first iMac and also my first apple laptop since 2012 . My laptop from 2012 doesn’t work anymore and can’t update anymore so decided to upgrade

Same here I’m having to upgrade my 15 inch MacBook Air because its from 2011 so that makes it really old and obsolete. Surprisingly the computer still works, the Apple employees were surprised it was still working when I brought it in to attempt to fix the camera and mic.

@@jessicamena3320 yeah mine doesn’t update anymore the software. It comes up but when I update it freezes and stops so I have to press those buttons or just turn it off. I’m excited to get it. It says it’s coming the 29th of this month

Just for anyone considering getting a "small" iMac 2021 with little storage, 256 or whatever and using a hard drive for extra storage: your data transfer will only ever be as slow as your hard drive. If you need the speed of the M1 chip, which is mind-blowing in my opinion, then better opt for the bigger storage.

I’m thinking about buying one for doing school work, I will be starting school on sept, but I’m planning on being in school for 4+ years plus I also have my own business which i will be doing most of the stuff from my iMac too. do you think I can buy the 256 or should I just pay the extra money for 500gb or even 1tb

Great video, I’m glad I found your useful channel and I’m now a subscriber, I’m a windows user just trying out to learn my new iMac 24, even though I have an iPhone and iPad, your tutorial has really helped me. Can you make a video how we can extend our storage with external ssd? I have the 256GB but have a ton of videos, pictures and music that will not fit unless I have them on external ssd. Can I access the ssd to see my pictures, videos and music just by clicking the shortcuts installed?

A ton of interesting stuff here. Nice. But does the short cable on that dock not drive you nuts? I'm looking for a dock that has about the same array of ports but a cable that reaches the desk! Any ideas? All I can find is the swanky Caldigit and OWC ones. They're super nice, but overkill for my needs.

Great video. Just one little thing, don't replace the keyboard. (Especially the fingerprint models). As soon as you sell the matching Apple equipment, say goodbye to the rr-sale value. They'll be plenty of people that kept theirs. People will just skip past your ad as soon as they know you've cheaper out by selling. I understand the need for better customised equipment. But the value you'll lose by not saying up will make you the last re-seller at upgrade time. Great content tough.

You can put external ssd above power cable(put velcro tape on the inner side of stand), and it will be hidden, so It will not ruin aestetics that much... :D

I need a hub with a SD port so I found one on Amazon from TWOPAN with 2 SD ports, 2 USB-3, 1 USB-2, and a lightening port. What is so neat about it is it attaches to the bottom of the monitor and uses 1 of my 4 ports on the back. Even neater it has faceplates in every color the iMac comes in so it looks like it was made for the iMac.

What about Touch ID for another fidee? 👀. I was thinking the same but it’s annoying how all these things add up. I think I’m looking at £300 over base price minimum 😐

@@RemofRenaissance Touch ID is nice to have, but how often do you use It? Is it worth and extra £200 to you, or can you input your password. To me no. I'd rather save a few hundred and put it towards 16GB RAM.

@@ASuwan22 I actually use it a lot. Mainly for paying for things I have 2 kids so plenty of things to pay for lol. If I decide to go without then it would be me thinking just pay for stuff on my phone / other devices. I’m still putting a business case together for getting any kind of iMac lol so will see what choice I make. With the pandemic it’s unlikely I will use my laptop in the same way and I have an iPad so could be I sell my 2017 MacBook Pro (15 inch) and get a desktop. Rarely has that machine left my house in any case!

I would get both Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad! Mouse for all of the normal stuff and trackpad for all of the gestures (the thing that makes me wanna trackpad more is where the charging port is)

Thanks.🙏💕 I just opened my iMacM1 and I was so disappointed. Your video helped me to open my screen, which was one of the reasons I invested in getting this machine. I wanted a bigger screen than my iPad to write and publish on. I also need to be connected to a regular computer, as opposed to ta tablet. So I am smiling because, I know the best is yet to come as I feel into my new iMac and get work done. Looking forward to listening to your very helpful video about the assets contained within this huge investment I made. I will probably have many more questions as I go, but at least for now, my iMac is running so I can finish my blog post and publish! It’s so funny that before I clicked on to your video, I was going to call the store I bought it from to return it. Now I feel so much better about this expenditure. Thanks again! ☺️

I love my pink one I didn’t get the Touch ID one but I just use my Apple Watch to unlock it when I actually find much better than Touch ID but I love my new imac!
