I have the Mastercool one, any mechanic without one and doing brake lines the old-fashioned way is just putting stress on themselves for no reason. The only caution I would give is don't try to use brake line for the gm fuel lines, I won't fare them it will just push through, make sure you are using the thinner walled fuel line. great review Pete keep up the good work...

Pete, I was just looking at their stud weld guns as the have three or more to pick from. The inverted / double flare's biggest mistake is over tighten the flare and crack the edge. Great info as now, this is a standard dealer tool item! Plus, having the ability to make new fuel line fittings is a serious plus. Thanks Pete, great review. DK, Omaha. DK, Omaha.

The copper clad line is so soft my small kit works easily, but I have been eyeing the mastercool set for GM push connect fuel lines and fabricating. Nice video, Pete!

How is it to work it in a tight spot on vehicle or piece of equipment I've had high quality brand name old-school ones that refused to grip the line to hold it when trying to flare the tubing slips no matter how tight you tried to clamp the tool very frustrating I've had Snap-on and rigid

I just had a brake line burst on my beater go fast car. I'm going to be getting one of these to try my hand at making a set of stainless lines. May as well finish converting fuel lines to AN while I'm in there as I'm sure it's only a matter of time before those go.

You’d think that the manufacturer would have labelled the case with the size of the dies and adapters. 😂 Most likely made in China and will last at least a year. Cheap manual as well. I guess you get what you pay for.

I would never bother making brake lines anymore. There are so many companies that have a pre bent stainless steel for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't waste my time sitting there making double flares.

Depends on the situation for me. If its a repair, which most of the time it is, ill make up a repair line. If im needing to do the whole line, then yes ill order all new lines. If i can find it, or to expensive then ill bite the bullet and make it up. Then again it can get shipped with the flares damaged and you need to cut it off and redo them. Always keep a flaring tool just in case.

@@JOMaMa.. I've made more brake lines and fuel lines and transmission lines that you could ever dream of. It's never any fun. Now that we have access to the internet there are so many companies out there that make them factory bent and in stainless steel for a very reasonable price. I also have OCD were when I do a brake line I want it to be exactly the same as OEM. I want them to fit in all the hangers from the factory. I'm not one of these people that just run straight lines and loops. It takes time to do it my way. These companies that make factory production lines are pretty much right on. Not to mention when you do it in stainless steel it's harder to bend and flare because stainless steel is more rigid. Especially if you're going to restore a car you're going to want all your factory beds to be precise and you're also going to want to redo them in stainless steel. There are a lot of companies out there that make them for you. Any a-hole could bend up some crappy lines.
