Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is the long-term swelling of the esophagus caused by food allergies. One way to take topical steroids for treating EoE is by mixing the steroid with sweetener to make a paste that is swallowed. Hello I am 13 and have eoe, I have been taking budesonide without Splenda or any other stuff and just swallowing it. I am wondering if I should use some kind of thickener or if it does not matter.

They're probably not going to respond since it's a 4 year old video, but I've also been doing the same thing as you. I'm taking budenoside with nothing else.

Noah Kligman hello! I’m am a 12 year old EoE patient with a pretty bad case but I have used Splenda with a topical steroid in the past but it just wasn’t sticky enough and I changed to a cellulose mixture instead of Splenda and I feel a lot better!🙂btw I use budesonide too
