Yeah, I know. Most of us know how to use a plunger to unclog a toilet. But a lot of people have never been shown how. In this case, the young lady was in her first apartment and didn't own a plunger. So I went out and bought a Korky plunger to unclog her toilet.
Most toilet clogs are easily cleared by a basic red toilet plunger. Some tougher ones need a little more urging. I like the design of these Korky plungers and have always had good success using them.
To use a plunger to clear a toilet clog, you want to make sure the plunger has a good seal and firmly push down on the plunger handle. All the while keeping a good seal. This forces air and water through the drain, pushing the clog into the main drain and unclogging the toilet!
Sometimes a toilet clog cannot be cleared by a plunger. In this case, you'll need a toilet snake to clear the clog. If the clog is in the main drain, then a plumber will need to be called to clear it.
