*EXTRA NOTES:
Once you install the Bluetooth drivers, your Bluetooth adapter will be "locked" to just you PS3 controller. You will NOT be able to use anything but the PS3 controller, over Bluetooth, until the Bluetooth drivers are uninstalled.*

Written Steps:
1. Download & Install SCP Toolkit from the link provided.
2. Plug in controller and bluetooth dongle.
3. Run the driver installer. Check bluetooth driver and dualshock 3 driver.
4. Select bluetooth dongle and device.
5. Click install.
6. The controller should now work over USB.
7. Unplug the controller and it should be recognized by the computer.

UPDATE APRIL 2nd 2020 - Hey guys just wanted to give an update now that this video is a few years old: ○ First of all, this video is still working great in 2020 (hence why I updated the title). ○ Once you install the Bluetooth drivers, your Bluetooth adapter will be "locked" to just you PS3 controller. You will NOT be able to use anything but the PS3 controller, over Bluetooth, until the Bluetooth drivers are uninstalled. This is why you won't see the Bluetooth icon in your tray, and Windows will say you don't have a Bluetooth adapter. ○ If you are having any general issues, such as your controller not connecting after install (4 blinking lights), use the scp clean wipe tool to uninstall the drivers. It can be found by searching for it in the start menu. Run the the tool then restart your PC then reinstall the drivers. This fixes 95% of errors. ○ If your keyboard / mouse no longer works after install, this is a common bug where your keyboard and mouse drivers were replaced rather than your controller's, get another mouse then run the SCP clean wipe tool as mentioned above. ○ If your controller doesn't work after you shutdown or restart your computer refer to this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0mtRvpriBno.html ○ The link to my discord server is here if your still need help: discord.gg/3s6gdtx

Suggestion: If you use a dongle, when you finish all the stuff and open the scpmonitor , probably you will se host isnt connected, "to fix that you need to unplug the dongle and plug it again". Then you ll see the host works fine. After that disconnect your ps3 controller. And sorry for my bad english i hope it helps you.

8 months later, I then realised that the SCP tool will install a very specific bluetooth driver for the PS controllers. In result, Windows will not be able to use bluetooth for other stuff, like keyboard/mouse and headset. Please be aware.

Hello I have questions to you. So if I use Dualshock 3 on Bluetooth, I can not use Bluetooth for transfer file and anything? Do you have idea how to connect Dualshock 3 and Wii remote together same time(so can play Mario kart on dolphin 1 use Dualshock 3 and 1 use Wii remote)use Bluetooth? Never knew there was a full install program for this. I had been using slightly different version of SCP for awhile where you had to manually add the program folder and such but this is way more straight forward.

The SCP drivers does in fact hijack your Bluetooth dongle, but if you properly uninstall the drivers or reinstall Windows you will be able to use your Bluetooth dongle again.

Hey so I have the same problem, here is what I have found, when you choose the Bluetooth dongle it lists the VID and PID numbers next to it. It turns out that the github page says which dongles it supports based on those two numbers, but the page hasn't been updated since 2016 so my newer PC's bluetooth isn't listed. You can check if yours is listed: github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit/wiki/Compatible-Bluetooth-Devices Furthermore after I choose my Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) (VID: 8087, PID: 0029) motherboard bluetooth devide (which doesn't work for this tutorial) my regular bluetooth stopped working. I had to use the same tool and uninstall the driver to get my bluetooth back. So I think that it converts the dongle into a dedicated PS3 wireless dongle. I am gonna try to buy a dongle and see if I can get mine to work.

So I got the dongle and still no luck. Also an interesting note, even though I had bluetooth through the motherboard and with the dongle, when I downloaded the dongle driver bluetooth just disappeared from the windows device manager. It sounds like the Windows 10 Creators update broke compatibility and the author of the software has been inactive for years. I am not sure if it would work with a PS4 controller, I might try that if I can borrow one soon.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is your bluetooth adapter is not compatible with the scp drivers. I look it to it and i'll let you know if I find a solution.

Get another mouse and use the on screen keyboard and search for SCP clean wipe tool in the search bar. Run it and restart your computer.

This worked great for 2 of my controllers! Sadly the other two (that I bought online) were apparently nongenuine controllers. They could not connect over bluetooth. I would love to see a tutorial explaining how to make the nongenuines work over bluetooth.

DO NOT INSTALL IT ... It's good that some people have found it useful, but from my experience, I do not recommend installing these programs, apart from those horrible notifications coming out, your computer / laptop fills up with too many files, every time it freezes the screen and like it restarts by itself (It's a 2020 laptop, it's not the laptop's problem) I tried to uninstall the programs but there's no way ... I repeat, that's my personal experience, I'm not saying that will happen to everyone ...

Dont install the bluetooth driver, just install the dualshock 3 driver

If u need ur Bluetooth back go to device manager and select ur bluetooth then click on install driver

Hey guys. I was having problems with BLUETOOTH working. Wired connection was working fine, but I just couldn't get Bluetooth to work. If you managed to get your controller to work with a wired connection, but can't get Bluetooth to work, try this. Here's the solution that worked for me : 1. Open the "Install Driver" App 2. Uncheck the features you installed (PS3 Controller likely, USB drivers if you already tried once) 3. Click the "Uninstall" button on the right side 4. The program will Uninstall the drivers you Checked 5. Your controller should no longer be responsive 6. Now just go back to the "Install Driver" App, Check the features you want (PS3 contoller, Bluetooth dongle) (As shown in this video guide) And click the "Install" button. 7. Hopefully you now have Wired AND Bluetooth capability with your Controller 8. If you want Bluetooth back for other devices, just Uninstall only the Bluetooth drivers in "Install Drivers" App. Hope this helps!

2:03 my controller is listed as Unspecified, and it's name is "PLAYSTATION(R) 3 CONTROLLER" (i used scp toolkit before, it worked somewhat well before this), and now it doesn't work at all, my controller doesn't get recognized even when you install the drivers in SCP Toolkit Driver Installer, what do I do? When I press the Playstation button (cable & wireless) the 4 lights just blink and then stops a bit after starting

tried this with fake ds3 and worked; wirelessly and with vibration. but i'm not sure of applicable to all fake ds3. note: I used the sourceforge repositroy not the updated link. thank yyou mate

so now i can play distantly wearing my bluetooth headset and controlling with my cheap fake ds3. the builtin bluetooth connects to my ds3 and an external bluetooth dongle connects to my headset.. tried to switch these 2 connectors but it seems that the dongle may not be capable to work with scp. also I had to do a restart so my ds3 can connect via bluetooth

I brought another bt dongle and it worked with scp.. though had to connect it to usb 2.0 not 3.0.. likely scp doesn't support yet newest specification.. sorry for many comments i just wnated to share this experience for the good of people :)

I did this with an old PS3 controller, I got rid of it and now my new controller only turns on the 2nd and 3rd player light (at the same time) and doesn't recognize it by bluetooth. I reinstalled everything (even SCP) but it stil doesn't work, as if my computer still have caché of my old controller. Any help?

Doing it way completely shuts down my laptops Bluetooth capabilities. Not worth it. Is there a better software which keeps my laptops built in Intel Bluetooth. Is there something similar to DS4 Windows?

It works perfectly wired, but, when unplugged, the SCP Monitor shows the controller as "Reserved" and it doesn't connect by bluetooth. However, a helpfull video.
