It works great shifting through all the gears, even 1-2/2-1. You just have to be getting on it with more than a slight acceleration for the shift to be smooth. Also you can down shift while on the throttle. Say you’re sitting at 3500 rpm and you want to drop a gear or two so that you can pass someone quickly you can with no issues. Other than taking off at a stop or coming to a stop I never touch my clutch once I’m rolling.

I have a 2023 Ducati Diavel V4 and the quick shifter is smooth as butter up and down shifting for all gears. It really makes riding more fun and makes me look like a pro 😂. I like stopping fast and downshifting into first at the last few feet as It sounds really cool with the throttle blipping all the way down.
Weirdly enough, this is the first video I found where someone actually explains how to do a quick shift..great video man. I do have a question, when my bike is equipped with the quick shifter, is it still possible to shift normally, or do I have to use it? Keep up the good work!
It might relate to the fact that I've been riding bikes for a very, very long time, but currently I own two bikes both with quickshifters, I ride both using the clutch on every shift. I've ridden other quickshifter bikes also, I've tried using them, some shift quite well, it just isn't for me. In the end I want the feel of a clutch shift, no matter how good the quickshifter is. Just one comment about this. Every shift is smooth, regardless of throttle, speed, revs or incline. No special nothing. Just a thought.
Hi Dan, I’m looking for info or a video on how to raise the gear shift lever on a 2023 BMW F900xr (or similar)that also has a shift assist pro so that I can fit my boot under the lever more easily.
I don't have a video for it, but you can loosen the pinch bolt that attaches the top of the quick shifter to the bike, slide out the assembly, rotate it to the right (clockwise) by one tooth, and slide it back on. This will raise the lever a bit, so I'd recommend doing one step at a time until you find a position that works well. You should also mark the original position with a permanent marker so that it's easy to go back if needed. I'll try to make a video when I have some time.
Good question because with a Rekluse clutch, you can stop in first gear and the bike will not stall but the quick shifter you must use the clutch when coming to complete stop or the bike will stall if in gear.

Hi Dan, there is another question I would like to ask you. Does your motorcycle with an electronic quick shifter feel like the rear wheel is getting stuck or swinging when you downshift suddenly? In addition, electronic quick arrangement can only be used at high rpm, right? Thank you.
Thanks for the question! No, it never feels like it's getting stuck, and yes it's usually smoothest during acceleration for upshifts and deceleration for downshifts.
Great video !!! I dont suppose you know how the quick shifter detaches from the shift lever ? Ive bought some new footrests and cant get the pin out of the original ones as the shift lever is the way. Does it just click into the shift lever or is there some kind of bolt ? Cheers for any info
It might be easiest to remove the torx bolt that holds the shift lever to the side of the bike. That should let you move the whole thing out of the way and access the pin.
During using quick shifter and if i gear down it does occur smoothly but if i gear up there is some sound coming and not that smooth and the sound is like tak tak is that normal and can u tell me the minimum rpm to be maintained for upshift of gears
It's not smooth and can be clunky if you're not accelerating enough. You need to be on the gas and accelerating for it to be smooth. If you're sure you are then maybe there's a mechanical issue you may need to check out. Good luck!
I detest clutch. Currently riding a scooter, full CVT auto. If I get something like a KTM Duke 390 with quick shifter and auto blipper, if I use it between 1st and 2nd gear, how bad is it?
Hi! Quick shifters are awesome rider aids but you'll still need to use the clutch on manual bikes even if they have quick up and down shifters bc you'll need it to get going, stopping, and also when riding in traffic.
Is it possible to mechanically bypass this? It seems this option is inseparable from the premium package. I absolutely cannot stand assisted shifting like this - I like to clutchless shift on my own.
I've never done that but you may be able to just unplug the QS cable from the bike. The thing I don't know is whether you'll get any errors popping up on the TFT screen. I'll also look around through GS911 screens later to see if it's something that can be disabled that way.
@@danondemand Thanks for looking into it anyway. I ended up buying the bike - my sales guy knew of a workaround - but I'm actually enjoying the quick shift at random times in the ride for conveniece factors.
