So I need to negotiate with my sights, understand thresholds and develop aiming solutions, got it.

ChatGPT, can you expand "aim at the target" into 5000 words and be as verbose and grandeloquent as inhumanly possible.

Very clear 👍🏻 Repetition is the mother of learning. 7 minutes is a fairly short video.

only problem I have is that is still aiming. when you say don't aim with a red dot is kinda odd. You just aim differently by using a projected visual que instead of a metric on the gun itself. look at the target to aim not the gun.

Seems to me like a lot of fancy words to say "stay threat focused while placing the dot where you need the bullet impact". Firearms instructor and combat vet of 22 years.

I'm noticing a running gag on Red dot how to videos on youtube. No one ever turns their sight on. Probably an important step.

I really don’t care how well that you present your weapon, a red dot is about as useful as pointing your weapon in the general direction, closing your eyes and pulling the trigger, if you haven’t even bothered to turn it on. I think you missed an important step!

Granted, the language could have been a little less esoteric and stilted, but after viewing this video for the third time, as a newbie to Red Dots, I came away with an epiphany when it came to shooting with my Red Dot Sight. Buck's presentation is less of a "how to manual" and more of (and I hate to use these words) a philosophical "school of taught" approach to shooting with a Red Dot Sight. I would suggest everyone viewing Buck's video at least twice.

The first we're going to talk about today is threat focus. So typically speaking with iron sights, you establish a naming solution. In other words, you point the gun in the direction of the target. You find your front sight, you drive it into the context of the rear sight and you negotiate with it. With the red dot sight you don't do that you maintain threat focus. I stopped watching at this point

Somehow this answered exactly what I was looking for. I'm a black sheep here, even though I wasn't expecting this, I enjoyed it even though it could be cut in half. The title should be different though. "The Survival Benefits Of Red Dot VS. Iron Sights - Fight Or Flight Preparation For Newbies Episode 1" lol

aren't there two red dots because we have two eyes? my dominant eye gives blurrier image than my other eye... * I'm right handed and my right eye focuses on objects, but my left eye sees better.

Possibly astigmatism
@OrenLikes
@OrenLikes 6 месяцев назад
@@malikjohnson33 I DO have astigmatism, but, how is this relevant? AFAIK, all people (with two eyes) that focus on a far target will see nearer objects twice - we cannot focus on all distances at the same time!
@malikjohnson33
@malikjohnson33 6 месяцев назад
@@OrenLikes not to sure honestly I would say look into it and do your research I just know it’s very common with people who have astigmatism’s But that’s just my guess due to the fact one eye is blurrier then the other
@ozziodefazio8350
@ozziodefazio8350 2 месяца назад
You don’t see two dots because you’re only looking thru the sight with your dominant eye, the other eye is on the target where your focus should be. You don’t even need to see the target thru the sight, you only need to see the dot. Your brain will superimpose the image of dot seen from your dominant eye, and the image of the target seen from your other eye, into one single image.

Not trying to be a jerk, but this is very repetitive. You keep saying that same things over and over. When you do that people stop listening and if there is any new pertinent information mixed in they are likely to miss it. Just my opinion as a viewer. Take it as you will.

In all fairness, this man _is_ a salesman, after all. If you want a message to stick, you repeat it over and over - and over. As it drags on, the pseudo-scientific sounding jargon starts to give off a condescending vibe. Almost as though he's tailoring his message to an audience he views as gun totin' hicks who see themselves as special forces _operators_ - or not.

Buck, you keep saying the same thing over and over. And the way you are wording things can throw off an inexperience shooter. To sum up what you were trying to say is this. Practice with your red dot and get it down to muscle memory, so that you don’t have to go looking for the red dot all the time. It’s that simple! All that talk about your biology made me think I was in a science class . 😢
