It is a well known mountain named Hirschberg near lake Tegernsee. I live here and use this tour as a "I need good vibes for the upcoming day and go on tour before work!" :) I think its 900 vertical meters and one steeper slope (more than 30 degrees). so relatively safe tour.
It's different, but not bad. It still feels like snowboarding, but on a different board than you're used to. Most boards have 6 connection points so you don't see a lot of slop between the two edges. On ice and groomers you'll notice more flex during turns, but on powder you will be happy.
This is a silly question but what is the reason for switching the two board parts while going up? I mean why am I making the tips pointing away from each other rather than keeping them together? Is there some other purpose or just to prevent hitting those two clips that are on the inner side to hold boards together once I wanna use it for riding?
I just picked up an amplid tour operator, but it has the amplid clips in the middle, did you switch out to spark fixie clips or something else that helps pull the halves together more?
Yeah. On this particular tour I was alone. it is my home mountain where I know all the time the conditions. but for sure it is always better to go with a buddy or group.
