A walk belt is used for stabilising, guiding and reassuring a patient or client that may have developed a fear of falling and can be one of the more common patient manual handling procedures. It is a wide belt that can be fastened with either Velcro or a plastic clip at the front. Walk Belts have two handles on either side, one positioned more to the front and one positioned more to the back.
How to Use a Walk Belt video is one of 33 videos in the Handle ME With Care - Patient Manual Handling Video Package available from KMO Health that healthcare facilities can use on their intranet, e-learning platform or as a staff education resource. The package also has a fully illustrated step-by-step Manual, Workbooks and Toolboxes for each video.
