Encouraged to see passive voice can be used in discussion and results. I have been starting every sentence with a personal pronoun and it is getting exhausting.
Somebody stole my laptop. My laptop was stolen. My laptop was stolen (by somebody). In the second sentence, most people would understand that "somebody", a person, had stolen the laptop, so it does not need to be included for the sentence to make sense. When the "by" phrase can be easily understood, we often leave it out of the sentence. I hope this helps.
