Latest updates they use squadrons of 5 planes. Since then tactics has changed. Most aircraft carrier try to get close as they can to the target to increase their effective range of bombers instead flying in a long distance which is time consuming.

Because i have horrible aim i just go straight to tje enemy and stick to a battleship or carrier and dropp bombs on them i die but atleats i get a kill where as if i just stay back all my planes get shot down and i only hit 1 to 5 torpedoes

Carriers usually have anti air guns. But I was surprised to see this carrier can shoot. I think it has small guns (secondary battery/turret). I don't know what carrier this is. I lost to an enemy carrier one time approach it can't attack me in close range.
