Hi Marty, just a quick question. So is the WP SMTP plugin bypassing the internal mail function restrictions and allows any wp user to send mail via the server ?
If you have an external SMTP provider like sendgrid or Mailgun as an example, can configure it to use those credentials and redirect all WP outbound mail through it
Marty, what happens if someone else uses your "email credentials" and configures them using WP Mail SMTP on another site? For example, what if someone manages to learn your email address created with your hosting provider, and all of the other specifications like port, TLS or SSL, etc.? Would they then be able to send email using your email server on their website? Gmail requires you to verify your domain name via Google Cloud platform to confirm that you are setting up a connection to use gmails email server with your gmail account for your site. What do you think about the fact that the web hosting company does not have a verification process for this? WP Mail SMTP doesn't send a notification to where the domain is being hosted to confirm that the email server configuration that is being set up was actually initiated by the owner of the website...
