Why? She will rinse them before cooking them anyway. She has to remove the dark spots also. This was just for the video. Not easy holding the camera with one hand and working with the other.
Thanks for the demonstration but I was horrified to see you take the potatoes out of the peeler with your soapy sudsy hand and put them in the cooking water getting soap in the cooking pot!
People saying not worth the 2 minute washing up but trust me i have one and at xmas when i had to peel for 10 people it took 3 mins no getting rid the peels after no cleaning sides it did my veg to and was amazing ..its worth it trust me ... brillint
I'm quite impressed with this, looks like it does a good job. And, when you put it into the washing up water and it was spotlessly clean after about two seconds it was like a magic trick!
Petals on the Paving Slabs haha it was like magic wasn’t it! Was impressed with how easy it is to clean. I love a good gadget & bought it to see how it would work & I must say it’s a great little thing. Thanks for watching, Rachael
Ideal if you grow your own and have a lot under the size of a golf ball. Works best on smaller potatoes that you can't be bothered peeling, and ideal for canning.
thanks Rachael, easy listening video, I can now assist my wife, despite my arthritis - not sure she will appreciate this as birthday present though :-)
My husband is planning to get this for me, maybe even as this year Christmas gift 😂 When he got me on our 1 wedding anniversary a coffee machine I wasn't happy at all but now after 14 years I would be happy with a patato peeler a lot!😉
Really? I had to help a friend peel about 5 kg of potatoes once. Took me an hour and my hands were in pain the whole day. Would have loved a machine like this then.
In the time it took to peel those potatoes I could have easily of peeled them by hand, then add on the extra dishes and the absolute racket that thing makes and it's a very big, NO from me.
Had one of these years ago very messy and still had to take out the eyes on the potatoes and very noisy and bounces all over the place & only lasted a month . by the time you use this machine ends up quicker to peel potatoes by hand less mess . this machine is not worth the effort at all what she doesn't show in this video is cleaning the part the peels the potatoes it's a nightmare to clean
Yes. That was my experience as well. This type of peeler is only good for the huge "industrial" size units for restaurants that can peel several pounds at once and are high-powered enough to clean themselves in a separate cycle with water only. These little units are double the effort of peeling the old fashioned way.
Only lasted 1 month £35 down the drain when contacted company they asked me to photo it video it everything they stopped short of asking me to stick my finger in. They will not take it back and tell me why it will not peel my potatoes.
Great! I'm getting one of these. And I guess when you don't want them peeled but just washed with some skin still on, you just give them like 10-20 seconds.
I have one with a different name but it also works well. With bigger potatoes it needs to be held down and the longer it runs the more round and smaller the potatoes get. I don’t have a composter so the left over slurry goes down the kitchen sink no problem. I don’t know what the reference to soap was about unless the video has since been edited. The left over slurry leaves the potatoes all slimy with a soapy feel. Perhaps that was what it was all about.
am going to be upfront its garbage as you just wasted so much potato thay are now tiny a good one rolls them around the sides like a us washing m/c i have used one buy cost more and less wast but thankyou for the video ATB
Until I worked at a restaurant that had a potato peeler the size of a 55 gallon drum I never seen it potato peeler like that in my life. It was a huge commercial potato peeler with like an asphalt lining inside and a water jet. Ever since I used that thing I've it's all about how nice it would be to have one. I didn't know this product existed and that's the easiest potato work you can get as well as the most effective. Such as these would be very useful even for a small business. Most especially if you coupled it with a slicer. It means a lot more when you grow your own potatoes , but if the potato is something you like to buy it does help keep the potato farmer in business. I think it's awesome we have access to such great things. There's no limit to the amount of people you could serve potatoes with if you have one of these.I've never tried to use my air fryer to cook sliced raw potatoes yet. I started this journey looking for an apple core and a slicer.
I don’t think it would last long in any commercial setting. They recommend no more than two minutes at a time. I have one and am very pleased with it but it is a lightweight machine.
By the time you add the water, plus the time it takes to work. And the time it takes to clean the device. You could have done the hold back of potato. Don't get me wrong, this device is useful.
Why to do something well, cheap, simply, silently and quickly with a peeler, when gadget can help us to do it badly, expensively, complicated, loudly and slowly... 😀
Well Jozef, when you get to my age and your fingers are beset with arthritis, AND you have a bushel or so of potatoes to peel, you might find out WHY people go looking for something like this.
All this effort for a pot of potatoes 🥔. You are kidding right. Either you are the laziest and most dense person, I have seen in a while. I know a couple who are elderly, and they have arthritis in their hands. You know how they solved the problem of peeling potatoes, which they eat by the 100 lb bag brought to the house. They have a guy, that they give a plate of food every day, to peel and cut all their vegetables.
