I have a tendency to gently guide the brush in circular motions just like I might with a regular brush. I don't find it hurts my gums because I am gentle and don't apply excessive pressure, but it's so hard to just guide the brush. 😂

I realized recently I have been brushing with too much pressure for as long as I can remember and my dentist said this may have lead to some tooth sensitivity I have sometimes. (I recently got an electric toothbrush and am using lighter pressure now which is working great!). I think it may have been wearing on some of the enamel. My question I wanted to ask is if this is reversible? If I continue to brush with less pressure can the tooth sensitivity etc. improve over time?
@qwenu
@qwenu 11 месяцев назад
If you brushed some of the enamel layer away, no, it is not reversible. The best thing you can do is get toothpaste for sensitive teeth unfortunately

I just tried using one and it was was horrible for me even on the lowest setting and using very light pressure. Is that normal? Does it take getting used to? I can't stand the vibrations, it's a very uncomfortable sensation for me.
@Melanie-ww4yk
@Melanie-ww4yk 7 месяцев назад
Idk if this is helpful, but I also have pretty sensitive teeth and gums. So, I bought one with multiple intensity settings (only use low), AND I bought a pack of sensitive brush heads that are made for the brush as well. I’m pretty sure the harder/stiffer the brush head bristles are, the worse it is for your teeth (creates gum recession and more), so using sensitive definitely won’t do anyone any harm. It has been working very well for me recently. I’m a recent convert from un ultra soft manual brush to a cheap Philips electric brush. It has made brushing WAY easier and less messy too.
@GDPWorking
@GDPWorking 4 месяца назад
Sorry I reset my RU-vid a long time ago, and I found you again, now! Please tell me how to use the electric brush comfortably. It is surprising and slightly frightening, as I wonder if intense is okay for enamel?

Hi Whitney, I hope this finds you well. I know this video is a couple of months old. I hope you see this 😅. However, I recently got an electric toothbrush. The Philips Sonicare 5100 to be exact. I am trying to have the toothbrush touch the gum line and tooth. However, I’ve got big teeth and on some teeth the toothbrush head cannot touch my gum line and cover the entire tooth. I am allowing the toothbrush to do the job for me, and allow gentle pressure. Do you have any suggestions ? If you do respond thank you for your time!! If not thank you so much for providing information for oral care. ☺️🙆🏼‍♀️♥️

I recently switched from oral b to sonicare. IT FEELS SO DIFFERENT. Oral B felt like... drill scrubbing my teeth. Sonicare feels like dentist polishing lite. The brush heads on sonicare felt so soft that I kept triggering the pressure sensor on the tooth brush... As far as I researched, soft bristles are good thing, but it felt so wrong after so many years of brushing more harshly than I should have. I just started forcing myself to not manually brush with the electric toothbrush, but it feels like im not doing well enough 😂 I think its a psychological thing.

@saltiestsiren

I can't use an electric toothbrush for this reason. The heads are so small they don't clean my teeth if I just guide it along. I also hate the 2 minute timers. I always brush my teeth for close to 5 minutes so I always have to turn it back on. 2 minutes is so fast and when I try to do it in that amount of time, there's fuzz left over. But with manual toothbrushes I do some scrubbing. I'm sorry but the small, light motions don't do enough. There's fuzz left. Probably because I only brush my teeth a couple times a week due to depression. I try to be gentle with the scrubbing at least and try not to scrub the gum parts.
