i just started epilating 3 months ago very course thick dark hair, now grows in slower and super fine and so easy to pluck i don’t even feel the pain anymore i love it. im shocked i got these results in only a short time! im so grateful for them too because i am one of those people who got stubble 24 hours after shaving. now i don’t even have to worry about that. i also got nasty ingrowns on my bikini line with shaving but with epilating not a single ingrown i’m so happy about that no more nasty scars, the only thing i can’t do is the armpits they hurt so much i’m working up to them. i feel no pain on my bikini line but my armpits are like hell it’s so weird lol

What makes it less painful is because you're used to removing hair not because of the epilator so waxing or not it won't matter. Any way that removes hair from its roots you get used to after few times of usage.

@JustJ0nathan
@JustJ0nathan 5 лет назад
I have an extremely high pain tolerance and I’m a man who loves to be hair-free, so when I heard of the epilator, I bought one right away. I decided to just try it on my arms to see how I would react. It worked beautifully although my follicles were very red, swollen, and angry shortly after I finished. It was a bit frightening, but the irritation was pretty much gone by the next day and my skin looked so flawless and smooth. It wasn’t until about 2 weeks after that I noticed how many ingrown hairs I had, which seemed to pop up overnight. My arms literally looked like a pizza. I tried exfoliating gloves to help, but that irritated everything more. If you can believe it, 1 year later and I’m still dealing with the hyperpigmentation from all the ingrown hairs. My dermatologist prescribed tretinoin to get my arms back to the way they were prior to epilating. I’m on my third week using the stuff, so there’s no real results just yet. I don’t know what I did wrong to get so many ingrown hairs.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 5 лет назад
What a horrible experience! You didn't do anything wrong - I think unfortunately certain hair and skin types must be more prone to getting ingrown hairs. Sounds like epilation is not for you. When I use the device I use a pumice stone every day in the shower while the hairs are growing back to avoid ingrowns.

Honest Content It has been a nightmare. :( I wore long-sleeve shirts all last summer because I was so self-conscious of my spotty red arms. I live in southern Ontario, so the heat and humidity in the summer is unbearable at times, reaching upwards of 40 C. I pretty much stayed indoors in air conditioning for the majority of the season. I’m hoping this gel my dermatologist prescribed will bring everything back to normal by this summer. Thanks so much for replying.

N g If you’re prone to ingrown hairs after shaving, I strongly wouldn’t recommend epilating. I used the Braun Epil 7. You will regret it. Trust me. My ingrown hairs took many months to heal. Now, I’m dealing with the hyperpigmentation. My arms still look quite spotty. The tretinoin gel my dermatologist prescribed is helping though. I’ve been using it for almost 3 weeks now, but full results won’t be seen until 12 weeks. However, I decided to take a break from using it for the weekend because I am experiencing a lot of redness and irritation, which is a common side effect. I will be returning to it on Monday once my skin calms down a little bit.

Hi again. I posted a comment approximately 10 months ago, and today I finally epilated my legs for the first time. I had been so frightened to actually use it, hence my epilator had remained unused for months, and all I can say is Wow, it is completely phenomenal! I have a lot to learn about the epilating process, but for a first attempt my legs are very smooth, and I am 100% confident that I will get better with time. Thank you so much for your demonstration, as it was key to me taking the plunge 😊

@thehonestchannel 2 года назад
Well done for taking the plunge! I have since used an IPL device on my legs (did a few videos on it) which has greatly reduced the hair on my legs. It means any epilating now would be really minimal and pretty painless. Epilating gives a great result- just be careful to exfoliate you legs as your hairs come back in to avoid ingrowns. : )

Literally the most informative video I've seen on epilators, thank you! I'm thinking of getting an epilator but I'm pretty scared of the pain, though I know I have a strong pain tolerance in some places. I see that some epilators have a very narrow length of tweezers while others are wider like yours, are those better?

Elizabeth Ong I guess the smaller the head, the lower the pain - but I like to get it over and done with fast!

Actually, the narrow epilators are great for places such as face while the wider ones are great for legs and such. Yes, the current models of wide epilators do comes with attachments. The corded epilators are better than cordless because it lasts a lot longer. I also tried using products like lidocaine on the area to numb it before using the product. Like she said as more often one use the product the less painful it feels.

I started epilating about a month ago. I had very thick dark hair on my legs, and the hair density was also pretty dense, but now it's way thinner and the hair density is way lower. Absolutely love the results of it. Though, I have 3 problems: the first would be ingrown hair (that's why I clicked on the video); the second is, that my pain tolerance is pretty low, and it just hurt so badly; the third is, that it just takes a lot of time to epilate, at least that's the case for me, having such a low pain tolerance definitely makes me take more time to epilate, while on the other hand I only finished epilating my entire body once (excluding private area and armpits), which gives me the hope that with the lower hair density I will be faster next time. I certainly prefer it over shaving, the results are just better. When I shaved I would get stubbles after a day and with epilating that's just not the case.

This is useful not just for woman, but also for MAN too! As a male, I think this can be useful to get rid of mustache/beard. Shaving makes the mustache/beard grows back so much faster. I think I will try to use epilator to remove the hair in that area and slow down the hair growth in the process. WORTH A TRY! Edit: After researching on IPL hair removal as well, it seems like IPL can also be something that I can use for removing facial hair (since you can now get affordable IPL device for home use).

@@mrs.samiabass3197 hi! try exfoliating the area very well the day before or at least 3-5 hours before same day with an exfoliating face wash OR body scrub OR dry brush on all areas you will be epilating. also, make sure your body is completely dry with no lotion or anything and you you could make sure of that by applying some kind of powder to the area (not too heavily just enough to soak up any residual liquid). make sure before and after each leg or body part rinse out the epilator head so it doesnt get clogged and stays sharp. epilate in the opposite direction of hair growth. keep the epilator at a 90° angle. lightly exfoliate a day or two later and when youre done make sure you moisturize but i would wait a few minutes so it doesn't burn too much. like she said its best to use this regularly as well as doing all of the other steps for the best result. hope this helps!

@justaguy4311
@justaguy4311 26 дней назад
You'll have to wait for the stubble to get long enough to get pulled by the epilator. Shouldn't take more than a few days to a week. Once it's long enough to be yanked out, it should be smooth for at least a week to as long as a month

I have been using epliator for about 1.5 years. But the hair does not get much softer or thinner as it is expected. It is still hard as it is shaved (I shaved my legs almost everyday at some point before). And I have problem with more ingrown hair now. It is irritating when the ingrown hard hair gets the skin ichy but cannot be removed. How could I get my hair thinner or softer? I am thinking of laser removal now.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 5 лет назад
Nyein Nyein I’ve heard laser is really good for darker hair. I’d love to try it - I have a friend who is hair free after laser treatment. I had IPL 10 years ago and it wasn’t worth the money. The No!No! helps thin hair but you have to keep going and going with it for months.

why does red marks comes out to you skin??
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 3 года назад
The epilator is plucking hair out of the follicles at speed so it there is redness - a little like after waxing - for a few hours after which is just due to a bit of localised swelling. It should settle quickly. Men can use it too but it could be quite sore if there is a lot of hair and you may want to consider IPL - although it is permanent rather than temporary.
