In this tutorial I go over how to use Articulation Maps and Key Switches in Cakewalk by Bandlab. In this video you will see how I use articulation maps to make keyswitch and use chords Let me know if you any questions about the process below in the comments. Cakewalk is a FREE DAW. Yes you read correctly FREE! This a complete DAW that use to be a paid software. It comes with effects, plugins, mastering tools, instruments and everything need to create music. I decided to try and start making beats in Cakewalk to see what it can do and so far so good. Definitely check it out.

Thanks for the comment... Im just trying to get out what I think people may need to produce in Cakewalk.. This is a great daw I think people should pay more attention to it... I try not focus on the numbers and more on the plays.. That means someone watch and hopefully got something out of the video... With that being said thanks for watching... 😄🙏

Thank you for the video! But how can I use this articulations map for a whole string section where violins should play staccatos, basses - pizzicatos and all it in one midi clip simultaneously? Like it in FL Studio with BRSO articulate...

The video shows where you would place the files you downloaded... You can watch the setup part once again to see what folder the file goes in.

@@XELOhh1 Well if it does then I am blind because I have watched it there times, learned a lot but still do not know where to place the files. It says import which I can do but then it asks where to place the files or folder and I have no clue nor do you show that in your video. As I said I am a major fan of your work and greatly appreciate your help but I am missing something here!

I found the answer on the internet it is C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Articulation Maps. Hope all is good now.

Thanks for the video. It looks like a good feature but takes a bit of setup. How is this better than adding the key switches to the piano roll?

When u just add the keyswitches to the piano roll it can sometimes mess up the key switch that you are on.. Ex.. If you have a staccato section and a long section and you start the track in the middle of both sections it will play the last keyswitch instead of the correct one for that section.. I hope im not confusing you ... 🤔 and its alot faster than having to know all the keyswitch areas just put it at the top what switch you want and your ready to go.. Hope this helps..😄🙏

I am having the same issue as Joe Grint. The link to download the articulation key switches isn't ending up at the right place at mailer lite and we can't download them. ARTICULATION

hey wats the best resolutions for add drums in the piano roll view.for some how i think my note are not slide on the right line and the drums feels kinda offbeat .

Not sure about the best... I would say 16th notes maybe... You might want to use the step sequencer to do the drums then bounce to clips and it will show up in the piano roll and you will be able to edit it further... Hope this helps...

is the step sequence like a real drum loop like the one in fl studio .are your drums always in time like how its always in time like the 1 in fl studio?

I havent had an issue with it... The step sequencer is kinda like FLs but has a couple of differences... FLs is a little easier to use compared to Cakewalks.. But it gets the job done...

Thanks for the video. Would love to download the maps you've provided--but not from something like "Mailer Lite". That's a dealbreaker. Don't you have Dropbox? No way am I giving my gmail to a place I've never heard of with multi-step "fill this out" requests, and then wait for their spam...

Hey Will.. Thanks for the comment... I dont have any eastwest vsts to assist with articulations .. The video does show how to set it up even if its another vst.. It should work the same all you need to know is where the keyswitch is located on the keyboard and you can make them.... Hope this helps..😄🙏
