@1:42. I'm having a major problem. I think I may have activated some other way of creating dots on my automation clips, because when I right click, nothing happens. Instead, I have to click with the left mouse button and drag, if I want it to go up or down, which then creates too many dots! Can someone please help me out with this 🙏?
Clean, straight to the point, and informative tutorial. In The Mix is definitely shaping up to be one of the best production tutorial channels on RU-vid.
Man. I've been making music twenty years ago. Then I had other things to do, like ruining my life and stuff. Lately, I managed to get everything straight and I finally have time and peace of mind to go back to playing. Everything changed in DAW's and possibilities are now endless. I found your tutorials and just wanted to share this with you - I am truly grateful for your videos, as you are a great teacher and those are one of the best tutorials I've seen ever. Thank you for doing what you do, as your work is helping some old dude to get back to stuff he loved. Cheers and keep it up!
I just need to say that I really like the way you explain all this stuff here. You do it in the right tempo, not too fast, not too slow. Information is very good with clear examples. Also good that you use short pieces of demo music so the thing you explain is not drowning in other unnecessary pieces of the song. Last but not least is that you have a pleasant voice to listen to, and talk very clear and not use complicated words or sentences. Although English is not my native language (which is Dutch) I have no problem understanding what you are teaching. Many thanks for these videos.
This is exactly why I love this channel. He shows us tutorials on the best and most helpful topics about becoming a better producer, and doesn't waste time.
Hey dude, I'm just getting into music production and I wanna say, your videos are so informative yet easy to understand. I really appreciate your work.
Why I don't know but when I watch others' tutorials I do not get anything inside my head but seriously when you explain everything gets inside my head. Thank You!!
I use Cubase and FL Studio. Mike is my go to guy for FL for years now. This is a 2018 video and it's still relevant in 2022! His videos are comprehensive, detailed and clear. I wonder if he has a course on FL. He's an excellent teacher.
I finally jumped on the bandwagon with having all this extra free time and I've gotta say I would be nowhere near the level I am now without your concise and articulate tutorials. Massive, massive help so big up to you!!!
Man I just want to literally say I appreciate what you do, makes a small time guy like me be able to follow and learn and create another life for myself…And for that nothing but love bro hands down 🤙🏾
Thanks man, have really been struggling as I've seen people use automation clips and all I can do is scratch my head when I read what FL Studio tells me. You've really just broken it down so nicely and made it look like a breeze to use. The way you explain how to use certain aspects of it is just right, and you use demo music to show what it does, which really comes in handy. Once again, thanks for making the video and teaching us something new. 👍
The last point you mentioned was really useful. I hate it when I let shit disappear but its somehow still there effecting something. Really needed that knowlegde
I know this is 5 years old, but your channel is really helping me understand FL as I arrange a song from Akai MPC stems. Mad to think I have had FL for over 10 years but never really put the time in to appreciate how good it is.
I try using the FL Studio manual and I end up more confused than when I started. I visit your channel and you make it so easy I can't stand it. lol! THANK YOU! 😁
Thanks! I’d also like to add that lots of new automation features have been added recently. I made a more recent video which you can find by searching on my videos tab covering some of the new features they added.
Hi Michael, I'm a musician from Canada in the process of learning how to use FL Studio for a number of years now, and I wanted to say I have been really enjoying your videos and music. Very well made and inspiring. Thank you!
Happy I found this, Many have posted videos stating tutorial but you click and see nothing but them Speeding through with keyboard shortcuts and whatnot.
Michael, Your tutorials are so informative and to the point. I've watched a lot of other tutors, but your are definitely informative. Thanks for your work man!!!! BLESS YOU!!
I don't know how to explain it but I just feel safe in your videos. Whenever I try out watching other FL tutorial clips something just doesn't feel right, but watching your stuff it just feels warm and cozy. idk.
I just wanted to say thanks for the FL Studio videos Michael. I've been using this program for years (since 2003) but I never cared to improve my workflow or learn how to better navigate the UI until recently and your videos have been a complete game changer. I can only imagine the amount of time and frustration I would've saved myself if I had only bothered to devote a bit of effort into learning this stuff!
Best tutorial channel ever! I've had at least 10 different ideas and had no idea how to do them. I came straight to this channel, AND BOOM! Perfectly explained every time.
Wow, your instructions answered all my questions about the automations. The instructions are clear and understandable. Brilliant once again. Thank you very much for your work.
Cheers, this just cleared it all up for me, tried reading the user manual that comes with FL Studio 20, but it wasn't very clear, so I watched your video and it turned out to be easier than I thought it was, knowing how to do this is going to be a big game-changer for me, thank you so much, much appreciated!!!!!
This explained it so well I've been trying to figure out how to do automation in FL recently after swapping from Ableton - I see the problem now was that I'd automated the 7 of the Parametric EQ 2 rather than the wet/dry on it; this clears it all up so well, big thanks!
I've enjoyed this basics series. Just rehashing things I knew but seeing them used with confident tehnique is always inspiring. Hope the advanced mixing and production shows off some of the quirks you used here (automating reverb out before a drop and such), it's a great source of inspiration.
MiisterShane Yeah it's a good refresher for me too, I can't wait to show some of the more interesting techniques especially ones used in some of the songs we are releasing soon :)
🙌🏽 Ik you was going to be there whenever I was ready to start fucking around what automations, you explain it down to where anyone can start playing around with it 🔥 thx again
I bought a pair of headphones based on this guys recommendations, and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. Not to mention that countless ways this series has helped me as I'm learning to produce. Also, In The Mix > Everything else on YT
Although I have to use the French translation I do my best to follow the tutorials, it is really an excellent support to allow me to progress because today I just made a good step forward to understand how to use automation. Thank you.
I hope someday the developers will think of making automation in the piano roll curves, like in a playlist! And to be able to see several windows at once, a visual example in the cubase!
5:12 THANK YOU FOR THIS! I've been searching so long for a way to copy automation data that doesn't involve linking both channels to the same automation clip or saving it as a preset and re-adding it. I knew there had to be a better way! It was just hidden in away in that weird menu! I expected "copy" to appear in the clip menu, since it's such a basic function. Thanks again; now I can get back to making music! FL Studio is very powerful, but sometimes the way it is laid out throws me through a loop. (No pun intended! :)
Gracias!! Maestro. Straight to the topic, well explained, no stuffings. Thanx so much for teaching us with your knowledge. Bless to you and your people.
