I followed these instructions as closely as possible and I'm still unable to get anything to show up. I downloaded the most current bios from the Asus website, made sure it was for the correct motherboard, made sure the flashdrive was formatted with FAT32, used the file renaming software, plugged the flashdrive into the correct port, held down the button, and waited for the LED to stop flashing, then turned off the power supply, unplugged it, waited for a few minutes, plugged it back in and turned on the PC. Still nothing. The DRAM LED on the motherboard comes on every time I try to turn it on, but all of the lights and fans in the case come on and stay on. Have I missed something?

Great Video this saved me during my build. Love the "common mistakes" and the FAQs, this video was EXTREMELY helpful and informative. I was on motherboard #2 and was going to start replacing other parts to troubleshooot, but I had just not done the bios flash correctly the first time. the first motherboard was completely fine hahaha smh. *EDIT* Thank you so much!! you saved me lots of time and hassle by just giving the clear cut steps with only the absolute necessary.

Hi Glenn thanks for detailed video of how to do Asus Bios Flashback on Asus Tuf Gaming B550M -PLUS WIFI II motherboard. Just to let you know I have a Asus Tuf Gaming B550M -PLUS WIFI motherboard which has DRAM ORANGE Q-LED light lit all the time. It was working fine few days back. I cleaned memory module contacts tried different slots and also tried one at a time but in vain. I tried doing ASUS BIOS flashback but the flashback light at the back of the motherboard blinks for 3 secs and stays solid green. Tried 3 different USB drives and have downloaded latest BIOS, formatted USB drive with FAT32 filesystem but the light still stays solid green and flashback isn't successful. I have even tried 2 USB drives with FAT filesystem just to see if that resolves the problem but no progress. Also tried flashing BIOS with an old BIOS file but with the same problem. What could be the problem? Thanks

I have been using this biard for a few years now and now I'm updating the bios. The version got updated, but after I saved my changes and reset it. It keeps popping back up to the bios menu. It wont proceed betond that. What shall I do? Inoticed that it still recognizes my main drives and SSD's, but I coukdnt select any of thise drives from my boot options. The only iption it gave was the thimbdrige that I used to update the bios.

When you flash the BIOS, it set all of the BIOS settings to their default values. I suspect your problem is that you need toggle the CSM vs. UEFI mode in the BIOS. This article talks about the issue. www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmanager/csm-support-bios.html

Hi , I done all the steps according to the video and the manual. I am using a 32GB san disk flash dive formated as stated in the vieo the file is the correct name , I have a diffrent situation where the lights stoped flashing seconds after the the flashback is enabled with the flash drive in the correct ports. The steady light obvisously indicated somethings wrong. the motherboard get stuck in the boot logo and wont even accept the F2 and delete entries i am making on the keybaord thats pluged in. I suspect my motherboard needs replacing becauce the bluetooth drivers arent working either.

If your system will POST, then you should go into the BIOS setup and use the BIOS update utility that is available there. Are you 100% sure that you downloaded the latest BIOS for your exact motherboard model? ASUS has multiple models with similar names. What exact CPU model are you using? Is this a new system that was just built or an existing previously working system where something was just upgraded or changed?
@royaustinwachter7791
@royaustinwachter7791 2 месяца назад
@@GlennBerrySQL Hi, Yes I am using the exact same motherboard you displayed in the video , I followed the motherbaords instructions 5 times to make sure. My system wont POST as it doesnt even allow me to press the F2 or delt fuctions although it is displayed at start up. I took out the COMs battery, I jumped the system on the two pins. My LED lights dont flash after the tree flashes with the flash drive in. I suspect its the BIOS chip that faulty because at one stage it allowed me in the BIOS but didnt not want to use the file to update the BIOS through the Asusu Eze - it said the BIOS is not UEFI supported.

Hi I wanted to do the update but used the wrong format of usb stick (exFat and not Fat32). The usb and the bios LED blinked. After waiting 10 - 15 minutes, I turned the system off (LED was still blinking). And now the PC wont start again...
@GlennBerrySQL
@GlennBerrySQL 10 месяцев назад
If you used exFAT, then the BIOS Flashback procedure would not have been able to read the BIOS update file from the USB drive. Would your system POST before you did this? What exact CPU do you have? Regardless of that, I would try to flash the BIOS again (and follow all of the instructions exactly this time).

Mine has started flashing but then remained constantly on . I am really scared to switch on the pc ....Not sure if it is done but it is over 10 minutes on a TUF b550 plus wifi II
@GlennBerrySQL
@GlennBerrySQL 2 месяца назад
If it just flashed for a few seconds and then stayed on, then nothing happened. That usually means there was a problem reading the BIOS file from the USB drive (or it was the wrong file). Regardless of that, you can't just leave your system like this forever.

@@GlennBerrySQL thanks for the reply ! By the way , the usb drive is probably a bit broken because I keep getting a usb device mulfunctioned message from windows. The pc wasn't turning on . I saved my 3 months old pc , with removing the battery and leaving it out for 10 minutes. It then booted and I managed to update the BIOS as well. That was a close call. Not sure anymore what the problem was , GPU, USB, I dont care. Happy the pc is working again. Thanks for the awesome video anyway!

Watched the video and followed the steps closely. Flashed the bios, waited til light stopped blinking. All seemed good. Installed Ryzen 5600 CPU and nothing. CPU fan runs without CPU plugged in, but nothing happens with the CPU installed. I get the RGB lights on the motherboard, but nothing else works. No display output. Swapped to old CPU (Ryzen 3700) and everything turns on and runs, but still no display output.
@GlennBerrySQL
@GlennBerrySQL 4 месяца назад
Do you have a discrete GPU, and is your monitor connected to it (rather than the motherboard video port)? Neither of those CPUs have integrated graphics. Does your system actually POST with the old Ryzen 3700 CPU?
@karamcdowall8065

@karamcdowall8065 4 месяца назад
Thanks. We ended up taking it to the computer store we got the parts from - it turned out that the old CPU was dead which explains the no output, (the parts upgrades were due to power supply failure taking out the motherboard, it appears out also took out the old CPU), and the new 5600 they supplied us was DOA! No wonder we were stumped.😅 They swapped it under warranty for another 5600 and all went according to plan and computer is back up and running. Thanks so much for your input.

I followed everything from the instruction, the flbk process went successfully, but when I am trying to boot up, the LED indicator stuck at VGA and still nothing shows on my displays. Any suggestion would be appreciated. MB: B550M PLUS WIFI CPU RYZEN 5900 BTW, I did with/without ram and vga card, none of them work.
@GlennBerrySQL
@GlennBerrySQL 7 месяцев назад
Well, a Ryzen 9 5900X does not have integrated graphics, so you will have to use a working discrete GPU in order to POST and get a video signal. Your monitor must be connected to the discrete GPU rather than one of the video ports connected to the motherboard. If your discrete GPU has supplemental PCIe power connectors, they must be connected to your power supply. Beyond that, it is just standard troubleshooting, where you remove and reseat components, try them in a different system, etc.
@chi7003
@chi7003 6 месяцев назад
@@GlennBerrySQL Thanks for your response. I tried to change my VGA card to another PCIE slot and I could boot it up no problem. the main PCIE slot(Gen 4.0) was also usable, but it could not recognize the card(my pc has a remote login software and auto runs it boots up, so I was able to remote in to confirm if my PC was running). After that, I thought my Mobo damaged, so I sent it back to ASUS for checking, but couple days later they told me it passed all the test, the board has no problem. So, after I took it back from ASUS then gave it another try, but no luck, the main pcie slot was still not working. even if it works(when lucky), when I am booting up and can go into BIOS, it requests me to disable CSM. But after I do so then reboot, the mobo will not recognize the card again. So basically I give up, I would just use the secondary slot instead of keep troubleshooting. Thanks!
