How do we calculate R3 and R2 and can you pls tell the exact requirement of R3

R3 pull up resistor and R2 pull down resistor

You have R3 and R4 the wrong way round in your description at around 5 mins, compared to where they are in the diagram
@WistrelChianti

but the correct way in the simulation :)

When you say that R4 is the pull-up resistor for Q1, don’t you mean R3? Otherwise I don’t understand. But then I saw that R3 and R4 had switched places from the 1st layout to the simulating program.

Is there any problem with npn as low side switch
@FoolishEngineer

both NPN & PNP have their own advantages

What if we connect the base of the PNP transistor directly to the microcontroller's pin through a resistor? That would eliminate the need for the NPN transistor.
@FoolishEngineer
@FoolishEngineer 2 года назад
Nice option, but connecting MCU directly to the supply is dangerous. we can't put our brain of the system in compromising situations
@alessandroguzzi5559
@alessandroguzzi5559 2 года назад
It doesn’t work, you need to get the base of the pnp to ground to get it working

Sir i didn’t understand that why we use R2 and R3 resistors ?
@FoolishEngineer
@FoolishEngineer 2 года назад
Please don't call me Sir. R2 is pull down resistor for base of NPN BJT. It prevents the floating state when the MCU turns off the signal. And R3 is current limiting resistor for Q1, it is a pull up to turn off Q2
