I love lists! Yes, they free my mind. I recently put together a checklist for my 4 week work routine. I have projects that for months at a time are on the same 4 week schedule to the deadline. This list frees my mind so I can concentrate better on what I have to do each step of the way. I’m always updating ways to keep the routine entertaining, and maintaining being good to my tomorrow self so I know what I need to start on first thing in the morning. Great video! It gave me more ideas. Thanks!
Another terrific video, Scott! I have several checklists populated in Microsoft To Do. With this app, I can create recurring lists for the work week and different lists for the weekend or just once a week, etc. Since my duties and priorities vary throughout the week, the flexibility and cost (free) of this tool keeps me on track to get things done.
timing how long it takes you to do each thing also helps. I couldn't understand why my morning routine was taking so long until I timed everything and realized I was stretching out tasks that could've been much shorter and thinking that longer tasks were being done in less time than they were.
Great video Scott. I agree completely. I have been a Todoist user but I have frustrated by limits of repeating tasks that contain subtasks i.e. checklists. I have also been a Trello user for my bigger projects. I am now testing TickTick as a replacement for Todoist. Even though some routine tasks are second nature now, I want the placeholder to better monitor myself and plan more efficiently.
I also use it as a biking list. I.e. helmet - gloves - headband - hart rate - sunglasses - water - etc. Also as a "for vacations leave home" list i.e. close shatters - check windows locks - turn a/c off - garbage out - hot water off - alarm - etc.
One powerful way to use checklists is a 'process checklist,' or a 'sequence of steps checklist.' This type of checklist can be used as a 'feedback loop checklist' too. I use a checklist when I trade Forex to avoid impulse trades. Each potential trade needs to meet specific criteria on my checklist which are listed 'in order'. not randomly. If the trade criteria are met, then I execute the trade. Trading is probabilistic. So, if a trade works out, great. If not, look for exceptions to the criteria which are added to the checklist for future consideration...
*Thank you for this great content. I'll put this into practice especially that I'm a Google Keep user. I'll also share it to my Wife and Mom as I can see them utilize this technique for many case scenarios.* *_I can also make this my Family's grocery list._*
I use Any.Do, as I was impressed by how it gives reminders, popping out from the bottom with a choice for done, schedule later, dismiss or focus. Although I also use keep and I like that you separate your lists, and that you can "un-check" them for the next day. I'm going to give it a try. I am also giving google tasks a try after watching your video's on it. What I really like from your tutorials in Simpletivity, is that it is SIMPLE, just like when I used to use a paper calendar. With all of the choices available now, I think I am more scatter-brained then ever. But with your help everything can be in one place. Thank you!
Scott, yet another helpful video. Thanks. Unrelated question: I am about to begin a side consulting project that requires set-up of a second gmail account. Is there a good way to have both accounts feed into one Inbox? Thanks in advance for your help. (Notice the use of your advice about getting a response)
And a response you shall receive! Please check out my video on forwarding Gmail accounts for a complete guide: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CjFc_F8pq1U.html
Hi I use The app FOCUS TO-DO that combine pomodoro technique with to-do list. You can set a timer for each task to accomplish and check at the end. Have recurrent task also and you can have statistics of how do you use your time.
Gotta use a checklist for my groceries, can't risk leaving a piece of paper at home 😂 and I add my fiance to the list on Keep so that if/when I forget my phone at home we still have the list. But to be honest, most of my checklists are in my bullet journal.
About lists and task to do, I use (ofc Keep is my daily app too) an amazing app Called Swipes. His way to manage task is really clean, fast and really productive by far. Please review that amazing app here coz is totally close to your channel and you will love the app and his system.
@@Simpletivity believe me: you will love it! Hope to see your review about that amazing poductivity app! EDIT: This is the app ;) play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.swipesapp.android&hl=en
