small thing: if this is too hard for you, it’s also fine if you pinch the top one like he does, but then add your middle finger right below it to stabilize. like the chopstick is passing through the center of the triangle you’re making with your fingers. then, your other two fingers are under the other chopstick to keep if in place. the bottom chopstick will not move, so you don’t really need to grip it, only keep it in place. In the end, it’s basically the same, except you’re moving the placement of your finger up one. instead of your middle, ring, and pinkie stacking on top of each other, only your ring and pinkie are stacking, because your middle is helping stabilize your index. for me, this gives me finer control and more force without the chopsticks slipping
This method is absolutely painful for my ring finger. I don't know why exactly, but i only can do it the way showed in the video, otherwise it's just a constant torture.
Hint use your both fingers which can go on the top of the chop sticks and try to adjust to the way your fingers go (obs: the direction the chopsticks go based on the structure of your hand) and the finger you use to let it on top use it as a support (not the chopstick top the finger which goes out of the chopstick) to later use it as its shown in the video. Yw!
i got the basics, but woulda like to have seem ‘picking’ chicken/sushi up with it, not just the soup. i feel like im holding them right, but a sudden shift, and, whoops, there goes my food…😂😂😂
It's not lame really, most people assume chopsticks are easy to use, but most people end up looking like they're trying to catch a bug with them while eating
Man, telling us the same angle like when we use a fork truly helped a lot! I’ve been struggling this whole time, got the hand technique down, but hands hurt like hell trying to eat, changing the angle I actually got to finish a meal without swapping back to a fork 😂
@@veenakumbhat3984 Completely wrong! You should use 4 fingers not 3! The bottom stick is stationary and the top stick is held by thumb, index finger, and middle finger. This way the 3 fingers create a triangle and is more stable and better strength. Many westerners are ruined by bad habits learned from these stupid videos!
All chopstick help videos are daft because they do not address the main obstacle of how to hold the bottom stick firm. It ungrips when you move the upper one.
Me: *is Asian* My White friends: *shovels food in their mouths with chopsticks* Me: *Holds one chopstick in each hand and stabs into meat like its a fork*
First time I ate Indian food it was nearly impossible to eat that with fork and spoon or knife so I said fuck it and used my hands(ofc i washed it properly) and tbh I kinda liked it
Watched this 2 years ago because I was going on this date with a Chinese women I had met. We’re celebrating our 2year anniversary this week end, thank you sir❤️🙏🏽
Cos I’m stupid and can’t follow simple advice properly I watched this video and adopted my own way of using chopsticks. It’s completely wrong, but works 😂
Actually, watch how to use chopstick videos done by Asians you'll find that his method, while it does work, is technically wrong, if you're a purist. If you're just looking to get some food in your mouth his way is fine, lol.
@Varsha Suryawanshi no I can clarify they watch Chinese dramas...i'm a Chinese drama fan myself and his or her pfp is The Untamed😂😂 I miss my wwx and lwj😭
@@kylephantom4we do have spoons as a regular tool for food, most families also have forks, but they are quite clumsy in comparison with chopsticks for Chinese people
Me : tryna eat instant noodles with two pens that ran out of ink Mom : suddenly opens the door and comes in Me be like : What ?? I'm preparing myself to eat ramen with my oppa
Watching this cause I plan on getting rid of all my useless drawer of 50 million plastic cooking utensils, chopsticks are so much more efficient and versatile
Who else is practicing with their color pens in quarantine 😁 ? [ I ordered my chopsticks but it will take 7 days so trying to learn with my favourite color pencils ]
@@toservemenI agree! This was incredible informative in only 1 minute 22secs. No fluff of “today I’m going to teach you how to use…” just “hey do this and this and bam!” People have been trying to teach me several times and this video finally taught me lol
Alchemica Blackwood Trust me. Fork is so easy to use. Stab into the food, lift it up to your mouth like any other utensils out there (spoon and chopsticks), and eat the food. If a “Chinaman” can use chopsticks perfectly, then how could they mishandle one of the most elementary utensils in the world? Are you a “Whiteman” who gets sour at those who know how to eat with chopsticks? Just stop with the prejudice ok? And for the record, what’s your race? I-know-how-to-use-a-fork-ian?
Im not even a BTS fan (just think some of their music is cool) and ur comment just made me go "AWWWW!" I really hope u get to meet them someday after the virus is over and everyone can talk without masks again 😁
