I just clay cleansed this weekend for the first time using bentonite clay! It actually works, I mixed in apple cider vinegar and filtered water. You don’t have to shampoo or anything after, it clarified my hair really well. I put a cap on and left it over night, I didn’t let it dry out all the way.
FYI: Clay is suitable for ALL hair types, but you may wish to trial and error different types of clay. Personally, I prefer a 2:1 Rhassoul to Benzonite ratio for my thigh length type 1 hair. I also prefer a runnier mixture, so experiment with that, too, if you wish :) PS: Makes a great face and body wash, too!
The stupidest thing I've ever heard people trying to keep their hair clean and then they put dirt in it why don't you let the dog poop in that dirt first and then mix it up really good then you'll get all kind of nutritions in it
The clay will clean your hair on its own. I've been using it for the last few weeks and my scalp is very happy. I didn't know I could have clean hair and still feel nice and moisturized at the same time. You would watch her long form videos on clay, one of them has a recipe and instructions for a clay wash.
I'm sure there's some sort of a conditioner that you could use the other than clay maybe you could get some clay out in the yard that's where the dog has pooped in it mix it up real good that way you get all kinds of nutrients in it or go lay out there with the pigs wallow your whole damn body in it
Hello! I surfer from sebhorreic dermatitis and I had a TERRIBLE flare up lately, my scalp was itching consistently and curly hair shampoos gave me relief for only hours I did this for 2 mins only and I NEVER went back, I have been doing it 3 weeks and my scalp is back to normal, after spending on expensive derm products I can't believe this is so cheap😅 Anyway just try it once if does not stop or adverse go to a dermatologist.
Hi I'd deep condition to be safe. I'd clay, shampoo then condition. Maybe ask a few cosmetologist and combine their answers to get an idea or compare what you may find on Google.
The clay is a cleansing/clarifying agent. That was mentioned early on. Why would you need to use another cleansing agent after using one…cleansing…agent…🤦🏾♀️
Nope, it only clarifies and cleanses. However, the clay will prevent your follicles from suffocating under products and build-up. Maintaining good air flow and moisture around your follicles will keep your hair from shedding as frequently. So the hairs will get longer before shedding. It doesn’t make your hair actually grow more. Prenatal vitamins WILL make your hair grow faster. Nothing can heal your hair, but protein treatments act as a band aid. Best to cut off the damage though.
You can cover with a cap or sit under a steamer with the clay in. I always steam my hair while clay is in it. Also add oil to your clay mix. I hope this helps
Leave it for lesser time. I use it as shampoo weekly and only leave it for 2 minutes , I get all the cleaning and strengthening properties, try different time sets
Hi @GreenBeauty , I have watched **many** of your videos today ^^ My whole afternoon and evening ^^ But what is clay use for? Is it for use instead of the shampoo? Does it depend on the level of claryfying that's needed, product/sebum/protein buildup?
Google is your best friend. Or youtube... But the answer is yes instead of shampoo and conditioning. Rinse the clay with water out of your hair and than when done, rinse your hair with a about 1 liter of water with 2 table spoons of Apple Cider vinegar in it.. and almost cold water... than rinse with fresh water again. You will not smell anything. And your scalp and hair wil thank you. 😉
I've used this clay 3 times. Each time I let it set on my scalp I ended up with headaches. When I used it a 3rd time and did not get it on my scalp, no headache. That was kind of scary so I haven't used it for years. Have you ever heard of the clay causing headaches if allowed to sit on the scalp?
What would be considered frequent usage? What would be considered infrequent usage? Would a person with low porosity be good to use it frequently? What about someone with high porosity hair, can they use it frequently? I’m considering using it seasonally? Was wondering if I should clarify my hair 2 weeks prior? As I am considering clarifying seasonally as well. I’m thinking about cleansing my scalp with African Black Soap every 2 weeks. I don’t know if ABS is it’s own natural hair clarifying cleanser, then I could push that up to seasonally and look for other less harsh cleansers to cleanse my hair often(every week to 2 weeks)
Cleansing your hair is dependent on how you take care of it, its for when its needed. Low porosity and high porosity can use clay mask, how frequent depends on your own hair needs. If your hair has a lot of buildup and doesn’t feel like it usually does you should try the clay mask. Theres no set time for one hair porosity to another, you have to know your hair. I wouldn’t use a clay mask every week though.
