El cap and the volante are amazing for acoustic. Consider chase bliss thermae or tonal recall for analog repeats which are warm and subtle

I was with you right up until you said Strymon. I have tried their products with unacceptable results. Sure, you can dial in the exact sound you desire in your bedroom or studio. And if that's your solo musical realm, you're all set. The problems begin when you take ANY Strymon pedal, or for that matter, ANY other IR based modeling device out into the gigging world. EVERY venue is vastly different from others when it comes to room acoustics, resonant frequencies, and reflective surfaces near the stage. On the fly pedal adjustments are ALWAYS needed from room to room. With Strymon pedals, and all other IR modeling gear, you have little or no immediate, hands on access to your tone and sound while you're on stage performing. To get adequate control, you must connect a laptop and get neck deep into the software. NO THANKS! That's a deal breaker for me EVERY time. For quick and complete control of my sound while I'm performing, I use mostly analog effects with a few digital pedals. In general, if I see a USB port on a pedal, I'm not interested.

How about the Strymon Flint for acoustic, Chris? Multiple reverb and tremolo settings seem like a natural choice.

Look into jam pedals monk, unbelievable on acoustic. Warmer and more organic than flint

UA reverberator much better for acoustic. Cleaner, fuller, almost feels like it’s not on but is.

Love most all your videos but really enjoyed this one! As a beginner (whose been trying to learn guitar but adulting and life keeps getting in the way) this was really helpful to hear the differences and what might be possible one day on my Taylor. Thank you guys for the awesome content you put out. I watch (or try to) them all and have learned so much! Thank you! PS. And I think there is a real need for more of this pretty basic stuff for a large audience of folks trying to learn but don't have much time. DO MORE for we simpletons please and thank you!

Gotta have Tap Tempo on my Delays. I do: classic rock, funk/r&b, pop, reggae & dub. I use a Boss DD-500 . . . it does Every Delay-sound on the planet. I also us a Big Sky with my Acoustic too. Nice stuff here Chris. Always informative. oNe LovE from NYC

I would add if you are trying to do rhythmic play, dotted 8 helps. Make sure your delay has a mix or blend knob. Thanks for the video

Bonjour lr Baggs fait des pédales pour les guitares acoustiques, je pense que la réverbe dépend de la pièce puisqu'on est avec une acoustique donc un mélange de plusieurs paramètres, un delay plus précis à maîtriser à mon avis

Perfect timing. I’ve just been considering adding delay to my acoustic . Just not sure if this will be too much in a live worship setting when you have keys and electric guitar using effects too. ?!
@empathysgone96
@empathysgone96 3 года назад
Never too much. Jesus wants you to have a delay pedal. Tape delay is amazing on acoustic, digital delay sometimes too bright. Tone knob is helpful as is a mix knob. El cap and volante rule . I’m also a fan of chase bliss

Thanks Chris I've been looking for a vid like this for awhile. I've been using pedals for long time. Playing Tak 12 for P&W team. Also some gospel group music. Presently I run Pigtronics compression (first pedal ever) Boss reverb, tremelo, chorus, blues driver. Typically run through the board at church. Pit band work with electrics and acoustic guitars all run through the same pedal set up, and an AC15 and Fender Acoustisonic. Like you from time to time I'm with out my key board and bass player. It changes what we do to help the singers sound good. Which is my job. Compression was my first pedal. It really helped to "squeeze" the 12 string and sustain better. Thanks for the vid!
