After measuring your distance out with the sticks and just before you clip up your line,mark the line with a pen and if you have to unclip,you won't have to keep getting up and measuring the distance again.

Does it have to be same size rod.... Eg 11ft and 13ft will measure differently?

No, because the sticks are 2m apart, you count how many wraps around the sticks .

The line length WILL be the same despite the length of rod.However it depends then on how you put your rod on the rests.If you have your rods straight out then obviously the 13ft will be farther out than a 10 or 11
