+Nicole Love I do not use it every day, I'm really happy with my appearance. it's just that sometimes I want to have a little bit more eyeshadow and make a more glamorous makeup look. And I personally think it looks better to use eyeliner when you have a larger eyelid. But that's just my opinion :)
+Nicole Love Well, I'm not Asian but I understand her. I have hooded eyes and never used eyelid tape before, since I can't buy it around here. I'm too lazy to order from the internet, so yeah... Still I thinks it is interesting and I would totally try it. Make-up also changes your look for a few hours only btw...

I don't speak for everyone here, but maybe we can all agree that although more unconventional in the west, these double eyelid tapes/glue are just like eyeliners-WE'RE NOT BORN WITH IT. We're not born with eyeliners, and I think it was kind of hypocritical to tell her not to change the shape of her eyelid, but put on an eyeliner. For what purpose is an eyeliner though or any makeup at that and why is it any different than these tapes, when they all change your features somehow. May it be a subtle contour or a full on transformation. I have double eyelids but they're sometimes uneven, so I use these. Do I hate myself for doing that? Definitely not. So, please don't say that people hate themselves just because they're doing this. It's really not helping any cause. But you're right, you will look different for a few hours, but that's nice though, and once everything's all washed off, you're back to yourself without changes again, which is also nice. Either way, they make us happy. So there's no reason why it has to be frowned upon.
UGH I hate it when my eyelids are uneven :( normally I have pretty okay double eyelids but sometimes when I oversleep my right eye goes smaller and it looks so weird
Tina! I just wanted to share my "tip". When I run out of eyelid tape, I used a band aid, cutting it into the shape of eyelid tape. Since the band aid itself is the same color as my skin, it works pretty well!!
Double eye lid tape/surgery isn't just to get bigger eyes. I had to get surgery because my mono eyelid was pressing down my eyes lashes, scratching my cornea. I was getting all types of eye infection almost every month due to this eye problem. So I had to fix my top and bottom lash line ASAP when I was 15. Although the surgery was in the plastic surgery category, I was able to get my insurance covered due to medical reasons. I just wanted to let people (who doesn't understand the struggles of mono eyelids) know that there are people like me who actually need the surgery. 😉
@@ayseayse1292 Yep they can. But, mostly those who apply or know about eye tapes will notice that first. Some will not even notice, like only if they are interested in looking at double eyelids then they will notice.
HI ppl with monolids. id like to let you know your eyelids are beautiful and yes people are jealous. if you like double eyelids fine go for it but ur beautiful and im jealous.
Who said monolid are not beautiful??????? I have monolids and I use double eye lid tape. I'm using tape in order to have more fun and choice of make up, not for hiding those. I'm fine with monolids but sometimes I want to try different look.
I thought I was the only one that struggled with the uneven eyelid thing lol. Glad to hear other Asians have to experience it too because even thought I have double eyelids they're so uneven at times
I have double eyelids, but I can't wear eyeliner or anything because they are barely visible. When I wear double eyelid tape it makes it look so good haha.

heyy lmao i'm a bit late to the party but did you achieve the permanent double eyelid with double sided or single sided tape? i know double sided is stronger, but i'm a bit scared to use it since i heard stories of it causing eyelid sagging and such.
Just a reminder, this can help for many people, but your eyes are beautiful just the way they are. Monolids, uneven, and hooded eyes (etc) are all beautiful features that make up your eyes. ;)
THANK YOU!!! The first video I’ve watched that explains the terminology used. It was SO CONFUSING when I read and heard double sided eyelid single sided tape. I was saying this makes absolutely no sense. NOW I just have to figure out what the double eyelid cream that came with it means. And what and how it’s used. And MORE IMPORTANTLY how to get it out of the application tube … I never imagined it was this difficult ‼️
My right eyelid has always been droopy. I tired eyelid tape before years ago but just discovered the double sided…GAME CHANGER!!! It completely disappears and creates a perfect fold you can’t see it at all like the single sided tape. I’m so happy I found something that works I don’t have to worry or be self conscious anymore
This was so helpful Tina! Personally I use double eyelid glue and it works pretty much like the double sided eyelid tape, but I can't put makeup over it :( I think I'll have to try the single sided tape soon since I have so many Daisos around me here yay!
Lol this comment is so old but if you read this then maybe you can consider switching to eyelid tape instead of glue. I used to use the glue too but it never lasts long and sometimes gets messy. My mom has used double eyelid tape since she was 15 until now (like 46), and now she just has natural double eyelids even though she started as a monolid. So yeah just sharing my tip if you want natural double eyelids

I've heard that wearing these eyelid-tapes for super long will make you get permanent double eyelids ! If I'm going to China , I am gonna buy A LOT and try it out . Do you have recommendations ?
+Julia Lin I've used the michelle phan method and worn tapes to even out my eyelids (right eye) and it works, its been a year and its still even! but its a 3 month 24/7 commitment and my favourite is the stringy fibre one because they are more natural looking.
My eyelids weren't really monolids, they were kind of like the model's in this video. so no one really noticed, it was more of for myself and to look better in photos. I'd say don't stick the tape too high up your lid so that it wouldn't look like you got a surgery or something! :)
Im a girl from the Philippines and im proud that I have monolids, But im using this tapes to have fun of my eyes and to wear different looks everyday. Asian is beautiful in very different way❤️ Raise our flag gorgeous filipinas!!!

hi Tina, can you do a video on what brushes are suitable for what kind of applications? I really need to get the suitable ones as I usually use the same brushes for several make up applications which I need to clean after every single application and it is tedious!!! Love your videos too Tina! I have mixed combination skin too so I always look into your videos for the perfect make up look for our skin type
@@esotericsadgirl No, if you get monolids you will want to get double eyelids. That's how almost everyone likes it. Most people prefer double eyelids only. Even people with double eyelids are considered more good looking.
@@animestudent3885 That doesn’t mean some people don’t consider monolids pretty. I have one monolid and one triple eyelid so I always try to use double eyelid tape to achieve double eyelids. But that’s because I’m not asian. Hopefully people will consider monolids pretty as well more!
Preach the double sided tape 🙌🏻 I try to find ones with tapered ends so they don't stick up after I put it on but stay inside the crease. Otherwise, I use eye lid tap religiously
Put light layer of foundation over it then dry it up like clay (you may need a certain product for that). Make sure the foundation goes over the whole lid though.
you tell them to mind their own business. its rude to point things out on people in the first place. or you can just be honest and say this is a makeup tool that helps us with hooded or monolids do makeup looks without smudging or panda eyeliner. :)
Okay I have a question... my eyelids are never the same. They differ every day and I don’t get why that is. Also sometimes when I wake up I put eyelid tape on to correct the size, but before I go to school I peel it off. After that my eyelid stays in that ‘position’ i put it in. It’s nice but I don’t get ittttt!

I have double eyelids, but my crease goes over the inner corner of my eye, forming a little pocket. Any tips on wat to do with that? It makes one of my eyes look smaller than the other.
Hi Tina, can you do a video about how to save your makeup? Let say I did my makeup in the morning and when it comes to afternoon, my under eye concealer becomes dry and patchy. How do I fix that? Let say my foundation started to become blotchy or cakey in the afternoon and I need to go out on evening, how can I fix that? I've been having these issues.

Michelle Phan said that you have to wear it 22 hours for 3 months straight and you will eventually get a new fold. But it depends on each person, it might take longer or shorter or it might not even work for some people.
Yes it worked! Sometimes i cheat and go on without it for more than 2 hours but yes i eventually stopped doing it after three months and realised that it was already even and permanent. youre only Two months away! :)
