Plastic plants are wonderful. Very easy to clean under and around them. You can change the layout any time you want. I highly recommend them.

The use of the moss and driftwood does tie it all together. In addition to this a couple top water plants like duckweed can also make the tank look more realistic and they will 1) add an additional food source, 2) soften the water, 3) provide a hiding place for fry and young fish, 4) help to keep the adult fish more relaxed and they will also fix the nitrates built up in the tank.

I love everything in this video so I just bought yesterday everything in the video for my 55 gallon. I do have a question though, I have a bio wheel 350 and the extension tube keeps falling off is there any benefit from having the extension drawing the water from the bottom of the tank or by putting the filter at the top okay?

Hello there.I am new to the hobby of aquariums and your channel is great for advice for newcomers.I have a question though.About six months ago I bought my first aquarium, and planted it with real plants. For the first few weeks they where ok but about a month latter my plants just died.I should have listened to the guys that said planted aquariums are tough for newcomers.Anyhow I planted them out but so far my aquarium looks empty without plants. I ve been thinking of getting plastic plants but i dont know if there are any health risks for the fish, considering they are plastic and if they degrade over time.So are there any risks I should consider? And on a final note. Are plastic plants ok with shrimp ?
