I used to live and breathe FM8 until i discovered sytrus. Even Operator is still something I gravitate more towards just because sytrus and op are basically additive, FM, and subtractive synths all in one. However this video reminds me of some of the cool things about FM8. I also like the visual layout of FM8's matrix over sytrus or op. It's easy to see immidiately what is routing into what

Exactly! Sytrus fm matrix is so confusing but FM8 is very clear. I am totall fine with operator though!

One thing sytrus could do that these can't is which ever waveform is there when u go to additive Osc it add harmonics based off the waveshape wheres serum and op only use sine additive waves but fm8 is just great with its fm matrix and less likely to sound like noise compared to sytrus

Of all the programs I've used in making electronic music or adding electronic elements to my rock/pop stuff, I could never figure out FM8. I heard Skrillex talk about how he used it for his big monster basses but I got absolutely nowhere with it and other producers said they couldn't figure it out either. I've never seen someone figure it out this well for the heavy shit, and Skrilly was right, it sounds a lot better than the other stuff at the time like Massive. Very cool! Thanks for this. I wonder if I can still download it somewhere..

Can you make Log drum bass using african amapiano genre like example song MFR Souls - Amanikiniki. People use fx10 fl studio but don´t have that but have fm8 can you help me please.
