Hi. What probe are you using? I always do metal surfaces but that probe pen looks so convenient

Bummer video quality sucks... I will have to make another video when I get access to a better computer but in the meantime I hope this is helpful to a few people.

And please, explain how to wire the sensor and configure it on Mach3.

I’m using Mach3 however after loading the g code ripper file after saving probe and cut the probe moves to first checkpoint then drags rather than lifting up. Then retry and probe just keeps going down even though it is made. Did you have to add any plugins or changes in Mach3? Wondering if it the NovosunV2 control vs Mach3

Hello I need help I used g code ripper but the program is not measuring the difference between tow point it's always the same We r not using the prob it's deactivated in artcam we set the z zero but it stay the same in the all plan for example we set the zero prob at 8.6745 When we click start we had the same number in all point

Hello my friend I used g code ripper but I had a problem I set prob zero at 8.6098 when I click start the same number stay the same in mach3 even the table plan is not flat thanks.

I came across this a few weeks ago and yesterday was at the point with my new machine I wanted to attempt some contour work.. on a guitar body. It took me forever to find this again. Seemed like it anyway. Thanks for making the video!! It helped me get rolling.

I am trying to carve on a 16" circle and the probe file probes it as a square. How do you accommodate that on your pieces that you are able to carve right to the edge of your piece?

Great video! A quick question: when you've measured the offset for x, y, and z of the probe (before adding it to GcodeRipper). x and y were easy to follow, how did you measure the z offset? Were you looking at Mach3 for an indication of the probe LED indicator? Thanks!

I am trying to understand the last step that you did after got "probe & cut gcode" from g-code ripper. I see that load that gcode into the Mach3 and "Cycle Start" (which prompts you to save and you did though not necessary). I am new and trying to understand from here. How the Mach3 corrects itself with the surface? Because after the probing runs, I see no correction made. outside the Mach3. Does the Mach3 takes the probe data and corrects itself? Please confirm. I have LinuxCNC but I hope it works the same. Your video is with the nice detail and thanks for posting.

Great question - Honestly I am not sure how the program interpolates the data from the probe. You may want to try and reach out to scorchworks for more detailed info on how the program runs.

This is indeed great! One thing I didn't understand, what happens after it finishes probing? (From this point until you mill the gcode on the new probed surface there are steps you're not showing, right?) Thank you

Hey late response havent been on youtube in a long time. have you played with it and figured it out? I did not skip any steps - the gcode ripper edits your gcode and inputs the probe depths automatically wich makes things pretty simple/seamless. I am not fully sure how this works - havent spent time looking at the gcode as it worked so smoothly. I believe it is operating as a macro in the gcode

What type of latch is that your are using to attach it to your cnc. Love that it flips up and down when u need it. Thx!

hey guess I havent been on my youtube in a year. I just 3d printed a latch you used magnets to hold it in the up and down positions

I dont have the file anymore. It was something I just sketched up to the project done on a simple free cad software online. When I posted this video I did not have access to solidworks which is what I use now. If you dont have cad software and you want to make something 3d simply you can check out tinkercad online. Its so basic (i think it was buillt to tech kids to 3d print) but you can get a simple shape quickly and save as an stl and open in cam software.
