The hard part is pulling off the cellophane but you can do it if you’ve got good fingernails good luck thanks

I often use an X-acto knife to pry the protective backing away from double-stick tape. You can be more precise, and faster, than just your fingers.

You forgot ONE VERY IMPORTANT STEP. Before you mount the Ring to the door, wipe the area down with Denatured or Rubbing Alcohol. It will clean the residue from the door that has built up and make a more permanent contact with better adhesion. Otherwise, there is grime that has built up on the door face and over time it might be more prone to loosing adhesion to the door.

You can still pull the battery out from the bottom I have a video and how to remove the battery. The tape won’t get in the way.

Btw Tom I ended up using the tape to put up both of my cameras outside. I hope they hold. 🤞 However, I did install a battery operated motion light over my garage doors a couple of years ago and it needs new batteries but I can’t get the tape to let go so I can replace the batteries 🤪🤣

No, it’s stuck on there once you put it up it’s hard to get off I mean I guess somebody could rip it off if they wanted to but then we would have a video of them

Is the tape still holding well? I'm thinking about buying it to mount lights along my fence insted of drilling. I'm not looking forward ripping off the back of the tape.

Yes, it’s still working and I did use it for some solar lights that I put on my fence and they’re still working too. It’s pretty amazing stuff.

Will the gorilla tape hold because I have a outward door but I would rather have the metal plate but they don’t make them for outward door

We are in Florida so we don’t encounter that extreme cold. I don’t know how it works in the cold it may freeze I guess. The only way to find out is to try it. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

What about the back cover? Shouldn't you tape the back cover to the door. Mine Has to be charged so how would I get it off to charge it

Once you stick it, it kinda is stuck so you gotta make sure you got it exactly the way you want sometimes using a level helps. Good luck thanks for watching.

@@Larabe138 This model in the video has a removable battery so you adhere the base and the battery is still able to be removed. Some other models you would adhere the backing the camera hangs from and unhook the camera itself to plug in and charge.

It’s extremely sticky and I’ve used it on small things. I don’t know about doors but you could try.

I don’t think it’ll work if you’re trying to tape a brick to a brick, but I think you could put stuff on bricks if it’s light enough

If they do, you can report it stolen and Ring will deactivate it so it has no value to the thief, and then send you a free replacement 🙂
