Ring Video Doorbell: Review! How does it work?

Have mine connected with my Philips Hue Bulbs and IFTTT app so when door bell is pressed certain lights blink as a visual indicator 😉

We had our first package theft in four years and basically three out of three ring devices failed to detect motion. The reason I know is because I have a backup system from another brand. I called Ring Support telling them basically the system failed. She checked everything, Wi-Fi speed, zones, etc after putting me on hold, probably talking to a supervisor on how to respond, she said that it was because of cool down and frequency settings. The last motion was 8 minutes before and she knew it. I pay $30 for the Ring Plus and am 100% disappointed in their response. If you see this review on other videos, then it’s because I’m THAT DISAPPOINTED after spending nearly $1k in product and fees. Unfortunately, I have no idea which system is best at person detection, but I know it’s not Ring.

I have 4 Blink cameras and no subscription. They were only $100.00 for all 4 and they’re great. Change batteries every 6 to 12 months and you’re good to go. In the drs. Office, shopping, driving, wherever you are, you know who’s at your door and when. I love them.

Amazon reviews say the time taken for your phone to respond - the caller has left - Has your experience been like this? did you fix it? make it faster?

Waste of money! This ring doorbell fails to do one this that it supposed to do which is to RING!!! If someone at the door press the button you only get a notification, it doesn't ring!!!. That can be difficult to notice especially if you are in a call. You only get a very small ding like any other notification. Because of this reason in my opinion it's useless. With other doorbells much cheaper you get a basically a call which doesn't stop until you answer, even if you are in a call.

Nobody ever explains how it communicates to your phone. Exactly. Hello!. Anybody home?

What's next? Maybe some smart people who didn't live with their heads buried in their smartphone.

if anyone is thinking of getting a ring doorbell...dont. i have suffered a Ring doorbell for years. they are an absolute piece of shit. get a Eufy one. no subscription and far more reliable. ring products are awful

Absolutely useless !!!!!! Mine is about two meters away froM the router , by the time I manage to get up the screen the driver delivering has left she’s ago !!!! Do not waste your money!!!

My step dad bought one of these a couple of months ago. It works really well, if my parents are out of town they can see who rings the door and what time it is. This is such a great product!

Anyone else think the doorbell ring noise is really annoying

00:27 ok so you straight up stole the "A Few Moments Later" segment bumper from Casey Neistat but if that wasn't bad enough you didn't even use it properly. You used it to separate two completely different scenarios that show the difference between having the Ring doorbell or not having it. That bumper is for adapting two portions of the same scenario that happens to have a large time gap between the two. If you're going to steal something, at least use it properly.

My busy body neighbor is always making her truck do the beep noise when you lock it. Would that activate the microphone? She’s a nosey nelly no doubt but is she beeping her car lock twice an hour to activate the ring-bell? Does that activate a ring bell? She doesn’t come outside, she’s locking it from in her house. 3/5 times I’m just coming in or out of mine.

I think the annual subscription fee is a total rip off, it won’t connect to WiFi unless your router is practically next to the door bell, and a poor WiFi signal means by the time it does connect, stops buffering, the caller has gone. And using the chime pro to act as a relay between the doorbell and router to boost the signal, makes no difference. Better off buying a proper cctv set up. Update 22/11/22, it also prone to stop streaming for no reason, you have to keep setting up the chime pro and doorbell with your wifi password, having to constantly pair each device is a right PITA.
