I'm always leery about using my strobe without a softbox of some sort. Then I see your video using just the reflector and I wonder why I don't do it more often. Great video! Loved the images with the fence behind her!

Great images. It’s interesting that Sony made high speed sync obsolete with their new global shutter.
@SalCincotta1
@SalCincotta1 7 месяцев назад
ty . and i dont think thats 100% accurate. details emerging on the global sync show a few limitations that dont get me excited. ISO range and only works with sony flashes atm. everything else is a manual sync. so im not super excited about the marketing hype yet. :)

What do you think about Sonys new camera with it syncing at any speed now, and no more hss
@SalCincotta1
@SalCincotta1 7 месяцев назад
im anxious to see it... however, early reports are not overly promising... ie... it only works natively with sony flashes... which come on... speedlites??? garbage. my understadning is everything else is a bit manual to get to work. so... at this point... its marketing hype for sure... i truly do look forward to seeing what the final product looks like and how it performs... either way - i think its breaking new ground and that benefits all of us!
@binaryinfections
@binaryinfections 7 месяцев назад
Ah yes ! I didn’t know that it was just for Sony lights which in my opinion aren’t going to be better then my profoto or westcott lights. I do like the global shutter aspect but we will see when you get your hands on it to be for sure :) can’t wait
@georgerady9706

Heck, I’m try to figure out ways to get the most of my Alpha 1 sync (with Sony flash since 3rd party don’t seem to work at the camera’s faster rates) But I can’t help but wonder - if I just had a couple of Aputure LEDs 300 and 120 - wouldn’t it be easier to just setup the light and take my shots??? Is there any “aesthetic” advantage to shoot flash? (Other than lights load to run and gun) Also, it looks like this is Cannon… but the sweet spot for Sony is 640 (base) ISO anything lower wouldn’t make optimal use of the sensor/processor as - unlike “film” - ISO only filters the image coming from the sensor to be processed…
@SalCincotta1
@SalCincotta1 7 месяцев назад
i mean... yeah... continuous lights are always easier, but the question is will they be bright enough to give you the look you want? i mean a 300?? holy shit. you bringning some MASSIVE WEIGHT with you too... better have a strong assistant. :)
@georgerady9706
@georgerady9706 7 месяцев назад
Yeah, no disagreement on weight and setup (I’ve only done video shoots since I started shooting again so “par for the course”) but I used to shoot - chrome - back in the 90s on my Nikon F5 Nikkor and Flash units and I was never wild about my (off-camera) flash shots (only on-camera out of necessity) and I was as burning film/proce$$ing back then so I didn’t shoot a lot of flash… Now I got this ‘toy’ and another $1K gets me a Sony Commander and F46/60 (B&H advises not to use 3rd party if you want to take advantage of the Alpha’s “super duper” sync speeds… also having one of those ridiculously expensive SONY CF Type As to let the duel processors write out as fast as possible… May just take this to NYC and shoot Christmas stuff and see how it works…

I can’t get shutter in any of the 1000s it’s only at 250 how do I get that with my camera which is a canon r6 mk 2 in the 1000s for the strobe
@SalCincotta1
@SalCincotta1 4 месяца назад
your flash system has to 1) support HSS and 2) be in HSS mode. this is more than likely a flash issue not a camera issue.
