Punting Form produces 20+ Ratings and Ranks per race. We produce Ratings for:
Early speed, predicted settle and map positions.
Sectional and overall race performance expectations
Trainer and jockey performances
For early speed, settle and map positions we take historical performances for each runner and apply an algorithm to determine each runner’s historical settle position, run style and early speed to the 600m marker we then blend these Ratings with track, rail, and barrier range data since 2014 to determine expected map position and historical actual to expected performance for every map position versus historical run style.

For sectional time performance ratings, we take an envelope of previous relevant performances for every runner in an upcoming race and run them through a paradox of odds 10,000+ head-to-head simulations to generate a Rating for each runner. These Ratings are displayed as a Price. The lower the price the better the Rating. We also supply the Ranks in the race for each Rating.
Our Ratings and Ranks for an upcoming race include Ratings for a range of distances including Start to Finish, Start to the 600m Marker, the last 600m, last 400m and last 200m and weight class ratings. We also calculate and display overall blended race Ratings derived from a combination of different ratings to give subscribers an overall Rating per runner.
Runners with a Punting Form Score greater than 95 in 2022 outperformed market expectations by 8%.
Trainer and jockey statistics are also displayed for career and last 100 rides and runners for every jockey and trainer. We also calculate Trainer and Jockey combination performance statistics and Trainer and Jockey performance statistics per track.
If you are looking for stables and jockeys who are in or out of form our preferred performance measure is Actual to Expected or A2E which is calculated based on TAB NSW tote prices converted to probability and compared with actual wins. Trainers and Jockeys with A2E performance statistics above 1 are performing better than market expectations and an A2E less than 1 indicates the Trainer or Jockey is underperforming market expectations. We also calculate and display winning strike rates and profit on turnover statistics.
