As exciting as the idea of using Instax in my Polaroid is, I can not see myself spending hours fiddling with it just to hope that it works. Respect for taking the time and effort.

Polaroid cameras don't have batteries, they come in the film cartridge and run out as you finish taking all the pictures... so you can't actually use Instax films in a Polaroid camera 🥲

@@kyus5953a lot of polaroid enthusiasts actually mod their polaroid cameras to use an external battery pack.

Thank you, that's the kind of video I really love, almost unique on the internet, for the ones to come. I recently bought an old kodak instamatic camera and had the happiest discovery that some original film is still ok (almost, i shot a pack of ten just to discover it's not dried out but it has lost almost all his light sensibility.)

This is brilliant! I've just bought a Kodak 960L and double pack (20 exposures in two pack shells) of HS144-10 film -- models and film type selected to have minimum film speed difference between the original Kodak setting of the camera (to ISO 320) and the actual speed of Instax film (ISO 800). Ideally, I'd like to be able to make an adapter shell that would let me just drop in a pack of Instax, and I was hoping for Instax Wide, but it looks like the Wide prints are 1/4" wider than the Kodak ones, so probably can't be substituted.

Thank you for your work, Stopmo - it would have taken me many, many hours for me to come up with this adapter. Wouldn’t it be much better for both Polaroid and Kodak to let “by gones be bygones” and get together to produce a new, great instant film. Old kodak instant film in both SX70 (with improved colors) and Kodak Instant format would be a great money maker for both companies and a boon for us consumers! Koadk definitely has know how Polaroid is struggling to ressurect.

I have a feeling the Kodak cartridge will fit a Spectra film since they're wider than the sx70/600 films

Spectra is exactly the same width, but longer and is also now long gone

Hello, it seems strange to me that the rollers are destroyed when the photo is taken. I think it would be better to use a large photographic paper as a base, perhaps it could prevent the rollers from being destroyed when printing the photograph.

Original Kodak Colorburst film was pretty amazing I have some family photos from the 80's and their film blew away the polaroids of the time, I think Kodak got sued for stealing trade secrets.

This is awesome! I have two questions that I hope you can answer as I'm also looking to being my kodak cameras back to life. 1. For clarification, if you make 10 of these holders, will they all eject with ease? 2. If you possess any original film, can you turn those into film holders as well?

May be you can help me about this issue with your experience with the old Kodak instant camera I have just bought 3 Color burst Kodak cameras and after shot one photo in the next shot the motor of the camera don't stop. Do you know why? Trying to figure out why my motor is always running? Do you know where I can resend this email? Regards jmsabate

Sadly yes, Instax wide is too wide for any of these cameras.

I’m going to try this on my Kodak Colorburst 100 hope it works! Also, do you have to put the Instax film in while in a redroom/pitch black? Or do it just like you did in the video? Edit: never mind you said it had to be complete darkness in the video lol

What is that black cartridge you put the film into called? I need to buy one for my Kodak Party time but idk what they're called and I'm new to cameras lol
@stopmo6845
@stopmo6845 Год назад
The cartridges for these cameras are called PR144-10 cartridges (or PR-10 for short). If you have trouble finding one it is also possible to 3D print one but I have not tried this so I don't know how good it is.

Awesome video. Thanks for making these. A quick question. Is the gearing issue likely to happen to us all? (A result of the method?) or were you just unlucky?
@MarksPhoto
@MarksPhoto 3 месяца назад
I think Kodak used a notoriously bad plastic for the gears in a number of their cameras throughout the 70s. The Kodak XL Super 8 cameras also have a problem with a gear stripping out. All of them. Chances may not be good to find a survivor. Maybe one of the hand crank instants may be a better bet.
