Great demonstration, I used mine today for the first time but noticed the contents creeping up the sides of the bowl and thought I’d over done the quantity of ingredients but it was simply a stage of the process, thank you for sharing your experience.
so the head will be wobbly until you attach it to the bowl? My grandmother owned a bakery on the 70s and she gave me her super old kitchen aid. :-) All other attachments fit so just wondering if thats normal. Thx for sharing!
What a sweet, sentimental gift she’s given you! I love that. ☺️ Yes, the attachment fits on the top of the mixer snuggly, but it doesn’t click, and it could come off relatively easily. The paddle just sits in the bowl and none of it is really all that secure until you lower the top of the mixer and have the two pieces resting on top of one another. I hope that helps and makes sense! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for watching, Melanie! This post has links to the freezer containers and other favorite items for making ice cream. Let me know if you have any questions! justhomemaking.com/how-to-use-kitchenaid-ice-cream-maker/#helpfulproducts
I’ve tried twice using the kitchen aid attachment and can’t get it to do much after mixing 30+ minutes. Bowl in the deep freezer over 48 hours and ingredients chilled in fridge. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong
Weird! I wonder if your freezer bowl is somehow defective? I would contact the manufacturer and see about a replacement, I’ve never had that issue before, and it sounds like you’re doing everything right.
@@justhomemaking6142 should you still hear the slushing sound of liquid inside the bowl after it’s frozen? We do, and I don’t know if we should or if it should be frozen solid
does anyone else’s attachment not slide in? i put it on the right side and it just falls off like it’s loose. tried the other side and it’s too tight to fit all the way
That sliding piece can be frustrating! I feel like the design could have been made so much better. Try turning the beater shaft sideways so the spring on the shaft is on the left, and slide that attachment piece on from the right. You can even hold your hand on it to keep it in place as you lower the top of the mixer down, until the attachment sits on the paddle. Then start running the machine to make sure it’s secure.
Someone also posted a video on if you do not have a spring… You slide it in the other way and it is supposed to be snug so… You’re probably doing it right
How do you get the ice cream bowl off of the kitchenaid mixer? Mine is stuck. First time using. Raw goat milk ice cream turned out like soup after 25 minutes. Now bowl won't come off of mixer! Horrid appliance!
Walk me through your process. Initially, I have a few thoughts: 1. Are you mixing and chilling your ingredients for at least an hour before mixing? (Longer if using warm or room temperature ingredients like sweetened condensed milk or melted chocolate chips). 2. Has your freezer bowl been in the freezer for at least 24 hours before mixing? 3. Are you starting the mixer on the lowest setting prior to pouring your mixture in? 4. Are you pouring your mixture in slooooowly as the freezer bowl rotates?
@@rescuedkitties7748 Hmmm, then I’m not sure. As I don’t have a Kenmore, I can’t speak to that. But maybe give it another shot with those things in mind, and then if it doesn’t work I would reach out to the company.
