I purchased one of these a few months ago, still customizing to my needs. Working on a Wacom Cintiq I wanted some way to eliminate the keyboard as much as possible. This device created the perfect balance.

I’ve wondered what the Loupedeck was all about, so thanks for sharing. Now I’m thinking I may need one. I can see a lot uses for it, not only with Photoshop; I can think of quite a few Blender things too. As usual, a great video. Edit: Woof, it ain’t cheap, that’s for sure, but it does look like it could save enough time and frustration to be worth the money.

Looks like a lot of setup effort. Also, the learning curve for using it might not be flat. How much time do you think it saves and how many photos per week do you have to edit to get that setup/learning effort out with the time savings.

I love it for video editing too. Saves a ton of time in premiere pro

This is amazing, I'd figure for Lightroom it's would be other-wordly to save in editing time... I've been drooling over this for a long time.... Sometime I'll see how to get this onto my setup somehow... Pretty damn cool.

Nice ... to see a video about Loupedeck and PS... Great job... As many already said they have pretty expensive tools and was hoping to see a more simpler model, more useful for creative and less expensive and here we go, they just launch a new compact model the LoupeDeck live S 179$ US... and still have so many option...

To expensive for what it is. But great tool. when my channel grows i might look into it again if the price drops.

You’ve got enough subs and videos to afford it. Shush. Lol. 🎉

I love using the CT with Photoshop, but when I updated to PS24, the "Activate" button on the CT stopped working, forcing me to open the program manually. Any idea how I can get it to talk to the updated version of Photoshop? The functions work fine once the program is open...but it won't open the program any long. Still works for Premiere and Audition following updates.

An awesome device no doubt but probably way overkill for many of us. I use a Razer Tartarus V2 that has 32 programmable buttons, joy stick and wheel that costs a bit over $100 Canadian. You can set completely different profiles for each of your apps. Designed for gamers but so handy for Lr, Ps, Davinci etc. My left hand never touches my regular keyboard and every key of the Tartarus is bound to a keyboard shortcut. I press one key for a stamped layer, the wheel changes my brush size, with the joy stick and the buttons on either side of it, my thumb can activate 6 different functions without moving my hand. You can choose what ever functions you want to shortcut to suit your work flow.

Great video (as always) but I feel that this is, especially for the price, is a waste of time and money; but let me give an example or two why.... You can set a button up on the Loupedeck to set default colours, by telling the button to replicate the pressing of the D key... so why not just press the D key? Ditto switching foreground and background colours with an X key! You can build actions, but you can build actions anyway and asign them to keyboard shortcuts. It just seems a lot of money to spend in this day and age instead of learning shortcuts. Plus if you then went on to another machine without the loupedeck, would you be stuck because you relied on it and forgot the shortcuts? Anyway those are just my thoughts and if anyone has the ready cash to spend and doesn't already have a tablet, then that is where I think thet are better off spending it, on a tablet, as pen pressure alone and natural hand motion is a far better leap in creativity, expression and time in editing. All said and done though, please keep up the good work, I really enjoy your channel and you are good at explaining and demonstrating.

If you edit a lot. Day in day out, then something like I find would be invaluable. Oh and that’s IF you can spare £450 on this too if the range model, or £180 on the lower model. But… if you can’t, then pressing X or D is only a few inches away and cost free. My point I’m making is the people that will buy this will. The people that can’t simply won’t.

@@WanderFeetChronicles I agree, people will and won't. For the record it's my job and I edit every day and see no benefit in it at all for me. :-)

The praise is mainly from sponsored videos. The unbiased views I've seen show that there are some major issues with the Loupedeck, especially for the price. The software bugs for a product of that price are inexcusable. I'm sure there are a couple of scenarios where it definitely saves some time, but I feel that a good dial and some buttons (e.g. Quick Keys from Xencelabs) can do the same for a fraction of the price. I really feel this product wants to be so much that is fails to cover its base. To me it looks like a sleek macro machine with which you can show people you are a professional. That zoom action alone tells me enough, look how janky that is. Changing hardness and size can be done with 1 combination, ALT + rightclick. That is more control than first moving your hand to turn 2 dials and then back to your mouse/pen. But hey, if you want to save some time and not save any money, it looks cool and you can look for options that convince yourself that it is really worth it. I bought a Cintiq for that price, now that was money well spent.

For me it's a waste of money. The unit frequently locks out on the mac and I find it quicker to use the mouse and sliders
