Then read about the subject in your user manual. Mazda makes good user manuals. How I learned to master cruise control: 1) Read in my user manual. 2) Tried in real traffic to get a fealing of how it works. 3) Consulting the user manual, if I still need more clarification. The Cruise Control is a very sophisticated utility. So there will be a learning curve for all of us. It works really well. But you need to try it out several times, so you get confidence with the way it operates.
The limiter allows you to set a max speed your car won’t exceed (unless you floor the accelerator pedal). But unlike cruise control you still need to keep your foot on the accelerator to make the car go and if you lift your foot the car will slow down.
Uh, can you please make a guide for us simple folks? I didn’t understand that at all, and are we supposed to do all that while driving? My previous car was a Holden astra, you just go the speed you want and then press cruise control button to keep the speed, simple as.
Please can you clarify. The video seems to show you pressing the end button AND the middle button. Also. you mention in the video pressing the LIM button. However in the Owners Reference Guide (4-83) it doesn't mention pressing the LIM button. I have tried to do what you told Pillred to do but can't get it to set the speed. When I press the RES (up/down) all I get is a beep. Obviously I have missed something but what? Some help would be appreciated. Cheers
Thank you for your comment Michael. To set the cruise control your need to press the cruise switch, this is the end button on the right-hand side of your steering wheel. To set your chosen speed use the set plus and minus buttons, to start cruise control. The cruise control indication (green) in the instrument cluster turns on at the same time. Once you have selected your chosen speed, the cruise control will maintain a steady speed as set by the driver. But remember to keep your hands on the steering wheel and remain vigilant at all times whilst driving.
@@mazdauk Ah. The extra button press may be worth mentioning in the video ;-) Also at 0:39 he says press the "SET" button but there is no set button! There is only RES, SET+ and SET-. He seems to press SET- as he says this. Is that what is meant? Also what is the difference between setting speed by accelerating to desired speed and using SET or using the LIM function? Doesn't setting a target speed automatically act as a speed limiter?
To set the cruise control first of all you will need to press the cruise control button to activate. To set your chosen speed use the set plus and minus buttons. Once you have selected your chosen speed, the cruise control will maintain a steady speed as set by the driver. But remember to keep your hands on the steering wheel and remain vigilant at all times whilst driving.
Lim has nothing to do with cruise control. It's a speed limiter. Cruise control makes the car cruise at a speed that you decide, without you having to press the accelerator to keep the car going.
