This might be the hardest part of learning guitar for me. I was able to learn the intro to little wing, a lot of my favorite songs. But once I started recording with a backing track to hear myself over other band instruments I realized how off my timing gets
Your teaching style is freaking awesome. Keep going man! Keep going! You’re gonna be huge, collab with people - I’d love to see you talk with Michael palmisano
I've been playing metal on guitar for 30 years, but I never used a metronome, i probably should've, but my timing is good and my metal is good, 🤘 rock on brother 🤘
Okay so you literally answered the main question i have had about metronomes! All other youtube videos were long as hell and didn't address that one question, not even a google search but you did it in a few seconds! Dude you literally rock 😂🤟🤟🤝
Dude as a drummer I seriously appreciate this. You breaking down guitars on such an understandable level translates to my instrument and makes me a better musician. Please keep it up I love them
Using this technique is how I got fast at piano scales. Increasing the subdivision rather than the metronome speed allows you to both get faster AND learn how to subdivide. And I would always encourage folks to do it that way.
cab you make a video explaining a free way to be able to get amp effects like you but also be able to listen to youtube at the same time? I am forced to use a DAW that takes up the audio for my computer to get any distortion or amp sounds for my guitar. which means if im playing to a song I cant just play youtube and my guitar I have to choice either or. amazing stuff btw youre an awesome explainer
I don’t know about a free way.. most amp sim software costs money. I use Guitar Rig 5, but Neural DSP and Bias FX are also very good. I think you can get a free trial
My bad dude's I seriously would like to know how many bpm is being used in the video? If you can help me out with an answer I'd really appreciate it ay
Im a bassist and I dont really have timing issues as far as the instrument goes, but I've been practicing guitar and some kinda fast licks with the metronome and was thinking: how do I fit these many notes in an organized way in order to not get frustrated? And here I am, watching the answer thanks to a YT recommendation. Thanks for the content!
the pain for me is just the eight, 16th silences and etc. every single piece of music I try to play has them and i cannot play them with a metronome the funny thing is that I get the rhythm exactly right the metronome just confuses me for these stuff
Man these little videos are just awesome my friend!🤘😀🎸I’m getting so much out of them, it’s great! Quick question, what guitar pick do ya use? Looks like a blue 1.0mm Tortex? Standard shape?🧐
Yes! Standard 1.00 mm tortex. I used to be really picky with my picks (heh) and only use thick big stubby 2 and 3mm's, but nowadays i just want to try to be comfortable on any kind of pick
@@gavinbrooks100 right on man! That’s cool, yeah I swear every other week I’m going “this is it, this is my forever pick!”🤘😀🤣haha! Right now I’m playing the .88 Tortex “The Wedge” and I’m diggin the hell outa that slightly sharper tip but not so sharp as the Jazz 3’s. Seems to be a happy in between👍anyways thanks for the reply and keep rockin! Love the vids a lot dude!🤘🎸
Bro I need this I am struggling with my rythm and practicing with metronome for me kinda hard, can you do on how to play scale on metronome same bpm like 90 bpm but like 2 notes per beat then 3 notes per click and so on.
Nice, someone who actually kind of explains the bare bones of it. Doesent just say play with a metronome on. I remember i had no idea what a metronome was supposed to do when i started out
My biggest problem (if I should call it that) is that when I play with metal or classically trained players, I play it swing and when I play with jazz players I play it too straight.
