How to use Microsoft Lists 

I am instrumental in a new startup that has applied for non-profit status. Kevin has impressed me so much I am recommending his videos for training our small crew. I am in Colorado and the Organization is in Fresno California. I just set up MS 365 on four laptops to get us started and Lists is going to be instrumental with our communications and collaborations. I’m an operations manager - had no idea Lists was an option ( face-palm moment)This has just Changed my workflow dramatically - I’ve used Notion and so many other forms to keep me organised - embarrassed but so excited.

Your energy and the easy way you explain everything is so great. I am really trying to help move our small HR department from just Excel to this Office 365 and to improve our processes by getting the most out of what we already have. I see the potential, but I have a lot to learn about Power Automate and Power Apps among everything else. I always come back to your videos. Is there any way you can do some of these things from an HR angle? Thanks for what you do.

I'm struggling to create formulas in Lists, all information is outdated and I can't seem to find a guide that explains how to create formulas like adding the values of two columns in aa third one or diving the values of two columns and placing it in a third one ;) I would appreciate guidance or if you have a video made about this? Hey Kevin, can you do a tutorial about exporting from Microsoft List? Specifically, exactly what data will get exported vs what doesn't. For example, do comments left in a list get exported or when there have been changes or revisions made within a list?

Kevin, this is a great video. You briefly mention that it is available on Apple or Android. Is that just a browser window that detects the UI of the User is a cellphone and thus modifies the UI/UX to fit a phone?

Great, like usual! I don't know why i don't see Lists on my E3 account, but i can use it on Teams, also i can use it on my personal account.

Hi there, is there any way that I can DELETE the column "Title" that is included when you create a new list? Or at least, make it not mandatory field.

This is really great, thanks. I am looking how to create subgroups in lists. Example would be a FAQ list where you would group questions of a same topic under the same heading. When you click on the heading, all your questions related to that particular topic would open.

i have a couple questions. How do you delete columns? how do you export data and to which programs can you export if its possible? can this connect to microsoft project? does it have gaant charts?

Kevin, this really helped with with getting started. I wanted to know what it does before I invest time in this. In principle I see a online platform to host a traditional Excel list. The beauty is that there is not messing with the "framework" of the list as it often happens in Excel. In my 20 years of working in Excel I have seen my fair share of crazy lists. I call this Excel abuse. I will give this a try ... let's see if this sticks.

Hey Kevin, love your videos! I'm wanting to leverage lists to create a new hire onboarding plan. I love the simplicity of Lists, as well as the ability to assign tasks. However, what I'm not seeing, is a way to move line items or easily insert a new row. Is there a way to do this & I'm just missing it? Also, how do we easily duplicate the list so we have a fresh plan for each new hire? Thank you!

Hi Kevin, thank you for the video. Could you a more detailed one. Like explaing the different fomratting options : like the country option, when I select, I cannot find how use it next or when I was trying to make my first list I realised that the 1st default cannot be deleted nor the formatting for the same can be changed. Your inputs on these matter would be great help for people like to use Lists. I have learnt so much from your videos

Thanks Kevin. Glad you are teaching this stuff. Microsoft sharepoint tools are miserable at best. It would be faster for me to learn front end and back end development and create something from scratch than to figure out microsofts framework. It's bad.

Thank you for this video! Can we create notifications for new entries that are specific? For example, depending on the managers name that is entered on a form, an email will trigger to only that person so they know they have a new entry specifically for them.

Could you advise on how to add a MS List to a flow in Power Automate? It isn't listed in the supported apps when building a flow in Power Automate

can we create custom permission for list item? for example an issue tracker Admin - can view all items in a list Agent - can view items that only assigned to them Customer/User - can only view their created items (tickets)

this is very cool, this is a more flexible tools compared to planner.
