That's a whole extra level of awesome! Also, let me tell you about Raycast for Mac. I replaced Spotlight with it, and I now have keyboard shortcuts that will slide my virtual workspace over to Obsidian and then open my daily note. *chef's kiss*
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I wish I found it 2 days ago, but you definitely have a new subscriber! I can’t wait to give it a try!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the video, as a teacher I'd like to ask a quesition, do you think that's a good way to "track" my strudent's progess and notes?. I'm thinking in establish 4 o 5 variables to track and register it on a "daily note" for every student. Regards.
What an interesting question! I'm fascinated to see what you come up. Without knowing exactly how you keep track of things now & what you'll be doing, I can't think of a way to make it happen that doesn't get bogged down in a geometrically-expanding tangle of notes & properties. Please let me know what you do!
you have no idea sir but the way you are explaining things you are looking very cute🙌🙌😊😊 and your explanation is very clear and to the point for beginners. thankyou
This is exactly what I needed. I've been attempting to track my weight, blood pressure, exercise, etc. in daily notes for about a week or so. I immediately realized I didn't know how to quantitate it. Now I have a handle on how to go about doing that! Thank you!
Intersting. Just wondering how long it took you to work this out. Wouldn't it be easier and quicker to use a spreadsheet? Then add a link to the spreadsheet in your daily template. You want to make the habit as effortless as possibly, right? This just seems like a lot of work, but maybe it's just me.
Great question, and there's a lot to unpack so I'll do my best. "Easier" is a relative term. Easier than what? For who? Right? And over what timeline? It was more difficult to figure this out but it's also difficult to use spreadsheets. I rarely use them (visual creative person here). So it was more difficult to set up Tracker the first time, but then when I want a new one, I have that process down right away. So it's no time at all to use it. On top of that, what good is a life system if your system isn't in one place? I *could* use a link to the spreadsheet, but not on two computers. (Look at my sync video to understand how I use one vault on all my computers). So I don't like having my personal database spread across multiple programs; Obsidian fixed that massive problem for me. Lastly, this is what works for me & that's how I like to share this stuff; as a peek into how I'm using it. That's way different than saying "This is the gospel truth and the ONE TRUE WAY to do things or you're a failure!" 🤣 Hope that makes sense!
@@plus1creator I totally get where you are coming from. Once it is set up, it is probably simple to use. For me, it looks like the set up is not worth it when I can create a spreadsheet in 5 min and do all sorts of graphs, reports, etc. with a few clicks. I have been using excel for years, however, and it certainly is not for everyone. I use obsidian on multiple devices and have my vault in onedrive and I have not had any issues with links not working whether it is you tube, a website, or even zotero (which I also have on multiple devices). If a (non online) spreadsheet is on a shared drive and multiple devices are connected to that drive and your vault is on that drive, shouldn't it also come up on the other devices? I haven't tried short cuts in Obsidian. but a link to google sheets or the online version of excel is just a url. As for one app to rule them all, well that would be nirvana, wouldn't it? I am constantly looking for that, but I don't think it will ever happen. Just because we can do something in an app doesn't mean we should be doing it in that app, especially if the alternative is purpose built, if you know what I mean. After watching videos on productivity, pkm, and all the software out there that goes with it, I am wondering if we are actually overcomplicating our lives as we attempt to be more productive and simplify. Of course, we all need to find what works for us as individuals. All that said, I enjoyed your video and it is always good to have alternatives.
