Another informative video Thank you for sharing! I purchased both Neem oil and BT earlier this year and just recently used the Neem Oil for a whitefly infestation on my Eggplant that had gotten out of control because I waited until a Mantis had completed it’s growing cycle and flew away. Now, the whitefly is under control. I never got to use the BT even though I had tomato worms. This was because Wasps were predating the tomato worms and let me tell you, they did a great job. Remember, always look(observe) before you spray!

I watched your earlier videos on BT and neem oil. I bought what you recommended. I also bought a sprayer like what you showed. This is the first year I’ve done spraying. I had great luck with both products and keeping pests under control. Good to know I can mix together because I was spraying separately which was a lot of work 😛. I wondered about spraying on the ground. Great show. Thanks

Thank you so much for your advice a couple of tomato vids age about using a black light at night to find the hornworms on the tomato plants. My husband bought one at Lowe's, we went out last night and picked off 6!!!! That's after I go out everyday, too, looking for them! It's kinda neat the way they light right up--thank you!

I managed to find a 100ml bottle of neem oil at a health store, here in Canada. It says it is a %100 organic. However, it only says for skin, put it in shampoos etc. The brand name is herbafresh. So I used your recipe with dish soap and water, and the 2tbsps of neem oil. So far so good.

I have never sprayed for the most part.. Although this year we lost 2 thirds of our tomato and pepper to worms and stink bugs. I don't like the idea of SPRAYING but I not going to spend several thousand a year to feed insects. Iam growing for my family.

Have you tried planting nasturtiums earlier than everything else to give them something to eat while the baby plants are growing? That works pretty good in the arsenal for me.

Question: I am getting ready to plant my winter garden( has been too hot up till now..live in So Cal), when is it safe( at what age) for the plants to start the BT and Neem? Found this helpful. What do you advise for slugs and snails? Snails were a huge problem until the drought(I'm in NorCal) a few years back made them go bye-bye. They were a non-issue for a few years after that. Now they seem to be recovering as I found quite a few when I was clearing out one of my beds last week. I've used Sluggo and beer traps. What have you found most effective?

Hi Brian. Great video as usual. I have a question regarding the right time of application. Can I use these products to spray on tomatoes when they are having fruits that are ripening. Is it safe for human use to pick the fruits right after spraying it. Is there a certain period of lets say couple of days to wait after the spraying and before picking the riped fruits?

Since I have lots of birds coming to feed in my yard and garden, I haven't seen many bugs... When I fill the feeders late, they go looking for ground snacks. My only bug issue was grasshoppers and I have seen them snack on a few of those. They likely got the few caterpillars on my cabbage, too... because I could never find them. Lots of bird poop nearby... hmmm. I also have wasps to thank... they routinely hover around the plants looking for free little snacks. No whiteflies or aphids to be found... but my neighbor had them. A local farmer told me his garden got hit hard by bugs. It confirmed my belief these natural bug predators were really worth their weight in gold. Only used neem a couple of times as a preventative and to treat some spiders.

I've never sprayed my veggies before so I always felt comfortable snacking while gardening and just giving things a quick rinse before using in the kitchen. If I spray with a neem oil/Bt combo, I know the labels say to wait 1 day to harvest. But do I need to do extra cleaning before using and can I still snack in the garden if I wait for a day after spraying?

Did you ever mix End All and Neem oil in the sprayer? I searched and searched and you are the only one who explained mixing 2 products in the same sprayer.

I use that brand of neem oil, I love it! Happy Birthday 🎈🥳 Maybe the ones that don’t have directions are hidden under the corner peel label thing in the back or maybe it’s not a concentrate 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm a new urban balcony gardener. Started about 2 months ago. Growing mostly herbs, salad, kale and one tomato plant. I have a bamboo plant that seems to attract bugs and a wasp. I think things will balance out but any tips welcome on whether or not I should keep the bamboo. Thank you.

I bought neem oil but haven’t used it yet. I found that if I spray off my plants early in the morning and in the evening I have been able to control the aphids. I spread ant killer along my fence line to keep those out. That is not near my garden so I am not too worried.

You can purchase Neemoil much easier in the EU than BT. To get BT I had to order it in the UK, from germany.

Hello! I sprayed a mixture of neem and peppermint oil with some dawn dishwashing soap at dusk and in the morning I found some white powder clumps on the top leaves of my melon and squash plants. Have you noticed that? What is it?

Q: So with neem oil solution, what liquid soap do you use? _(I want to buy some Castille for next spring since I think the "Palmolive free+clear" I'm using now, has too many perfumes added.)_ I would suggest using distilled water, especially when planning on keeping left-over neem solution for a week to use again. I had a problem using my tap water- it always rotted/smelled weird at 6-7 days. If you have space in your fridge, you can store it for a few weeks... but you'll need to warm it up to 'luke" to mix it back correctly.😀

I mix neem oil with Dr Bronner's Sal Suds. It doesn't strip the outer protective layer on plants like dish soap does. You can find it on Amazon. Works great.

Thanks so much. I just ordered the BT through your link. I have been having a losing battle with cucumber worms. I've been using the neem, peppermint oil, soap recipe, but to no avail. Though the season is almost done for outdoor cucumber plants, I know the war will continue with my broccoli, cabbage and other plants. Living in NC, the growing seasons in general are challenging, but still rewarding. Thanks for all the info you share.

Was clearing the lower branches of my greenhouse tomatoes recently. I noticed a small light brown spider going down a web close to a vine. It was fine until I saw a red marking on its belly. I googled small light brown spider with red belly, and wow. There are brown widow spiders here in Socal. I have an inordinate fear of black widows from childhood experiences, so this shook me to find out my greenhouse has dangerous poisonous spiders. I think I can see where they live, so I'll definitely spray that area with non-organic spray. I'll also be more careful now when reaching into the vines to harvest. #;o(

No ants = less or no aphids. Neem oil is also a fertilizer. Use EARLY and often to keep bugs under control. At nighttime! Hoping it exterminates the pillbug invasion I have. Looks like a moving carpet at night time they are that bad. BT seems to work too. Mixed results though. I inject it in squash plants to help control squash vine borer. How long is NEEM oil and BT good for? Neither of my bottles show a use by or expiration date.

Put one or two tbs dr. Bonners soap in squort bottle and fill rest with water and squirt the live bugs and pick off eggs.

Does Bt attract tiny flies? Is that to be expected? I just sprayed Bt on five pepper plants and hundreds of little flies swarmed in. Is this normal? It grossed me out, so I hosed the Bt off my plants.

I just learned that Google has changed how RU-vid notifies you when a channel you’ve subscribed to has uploaded a new video. They don’t!! I wondered what happened to all the great California Garden TV videos that had conveniently showed up in my email box. This was a brilliantly stupid idea on the part of Google. I would pour or spray on the ground around the plants in case there are eggs or insects buried underground.

I'm agreeing with Shirley. Not only is neem for bugs that chew. It's also good for funguses and stuff so it would definitely be okay to pour it around your plant.

Also BT is actually a bacteria that lives in the soil. So you're just putting it back in the soil...

@@shirleyk623 No such thing as a dumb question. That's what they say! Anyway to be honest with you I'm not sure. I'm sure they have some special way to extract it in any case cuz we have to be able to extract it in order to spray it onto our plants because it won't just work to have it in your soil. Or at least that's what I think. And I have been wrong many times in the past lol. They probably know how to grow big vats of it.

Hey thank you for this, very helpful. One thing, I have what look like TRILLIONS of black aphids 🤷‍♀️ (can’t find anything online) on my bumper corn. A. Are their black aphids? B. Is it time of season? C. Should I pull and drive away. I hard stream h2o sprayed them clean at night then neem oiled. 2 days of torrential down pours, I needed again, one day later they are back. Thoughts? 😃

Happy belated birthday!! So I have a question about Peach tree which I planted about a month ago. First it started sheding leaves. Could find any insects. Couple of days ago saw new leaves growing. But yesterday when I went to check, they were totally gone 😒 so now I only have trunk. I could not figure out if its insects or some small animal 🤔 I've wrapped trule fabric around it for now. Please HELP!!!

Unfortunately, here in Canada “Neem” oil isn’t allowed as a pesticide, yet I have it ordered as “skin product” through Walmart of all places. I will keep u posted

Belated birthday wishes! I have very recently started gardening so my question might seem a little childish to you ....sorry about that but do answer please.....so my question is:- as neem oil is quite bitter and if I spray it on vegetable plants ( specially the leafy greens, like spinach, coriander, lettuce) so wouldn't that bitterness (of neem oil) affect the taste of the "produce" ...... So should I spray this only when there's an infestation or as a preventive routine weekly spray?.... Please guide 🙏

Neem (Azadirachta indica) is recognized as a medicinal plant well known for its antibacterial, antimalarial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. Mix it with bacillus is ok?

my preferred pump sprayer is Scotts, from big box store. it has a nice adjustable end for fan etc. i have a one gallon for poison, a two gallon for non poison. 3 years now.
