In this video we show YOU how to MASTER Pinpoint pitching in MLB The Show 22.
This method of Pitching Input was introduced last year, and making WORLD SERIES in Ranked Seasons is VERY tough if you don't know how to pitch.
I made World Series EVERY season which was carried by my PINPOINT pitching in MLB The Show. This year I want to help YOU learn how to MASTER pinpoint pitching in MLB The Show 22.
If you follow these SIMPLE tips, I'm sure you can also MASTER the pinpoint pitching method in MLB The Show.

I used pulse for years. I switched to pinpoint in 2023, maxed out my pitching difficulty using pinpoint. My pitching has drastically improved after the switch. It takes a while to get used to it. But once you get the hang of it I guarantee you will get so much better FAST.

okay been practicing. can BARELY get 25% accuracy on most pitches. I just dont get it. which is frustrating because if you dont understand pin point or analog you are pretty much at a SEVERE disadvantage online and force to only play offline.

Analog is the best. I have to set the controller against my body to stabilize it and then can be more precise with smaller movements in sticks and be more consistent.

Is the elite 1 controller okay and just the basic new one is trash or is elite 1 no good too??

You should mention how the pacing changes for the same pitch if you are pitching from the wind up vs the stretch. New players might not know that. Great video though. Keep it up!

Can you explain this more? Like the pacing changes in what way?

@@anthonymota5483 Basically you have less time to perform the same pitch when you are in the stretch. For example if you have a pitcher that throws a slider and it takes him 1 second to throw it out of the windup (no one on base), it might take him .8 seconds out of the stretch. The motion is faster out of the stretch to help prevent base runners stealing.

@@wimbo101 Does this affect how quickly you execute the first "diagrammed" motion ahead of the windup, or just the timing of the following (generally downward) motion for the release?

You were one of my fav creators and now even more that you play on Xbox. This video is golden, I have about 3 different controllers and sometimes the motion locks up and doesn't let me complete (always fastballs). Is that my motion or the controller? I checked out your the controller you mentioned at Walmart and it doesn't have good reviews, how long does your controller last? I play for at least 1-2 hours a day.

It could be a mix of both, I have mine randomly lock up some and not be able to finish but it is very rare. I got my Xbox around the beginning of the year and haven't had any issues with the controller so far with a fair amount of usage.

I do not recommend PowerA at all as a primary controller. They have bad reviews for a reason. They are fine if you need a cheap spare, but deff do not recommend as your main option. Im using the SCUF Instinct Pro currently, but its a bit pricey. For the show 21 i was just using the 20th anniversary controller, or an elite controller. 20th anniversary controller is just a standard controller with rubber grips. Elite controller was preferred though and you can find them somewhat cheap now especially used.

I used an elite for most of 21 but just had thr right stick break and sent it back for repair since it waa under warranty. The standard xbox is definitely not good

@@stevedehorsey6820 see a lot of people seem to dislike the standard but ive never had any issues with them. Then again both the standard controllers i own are custom models not the plain black or white so maybe that makes a difference. But yeah, once you get the elite back you should be good. If you hate the standard that badly tho I would try going to walmart or gamestop and get hands on with a PowerA and some of the other cheaper controls and find one that you like the stick tension on. Then you can use that til they repair your elite

so I have an Xbox one power elite controller that I never used for this game. WHEN I TELL YOU THAT THERES A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE REGULAR SERIES X CONTROLLER AND THE ELITE!!!!! Thanks for pointing that out i thought that i couldn't pitch.

I just pulled the 95 Pujols and I don't know whether to sell him rn or not. I'm not aiming at live series collection rn or grinding to WS at this moment. Idk if his value will decrease or rise in the future tho...I could sell him and buy someone like Ohtani whose price will definitely go up. I am currently investing in Soriano's 2nd half card and will BANK stubs when a collection drops in the long run (trynna get at least 5 of his cards). Do you think Pujols price will rise or fall in the next week?

It will hold for a little, but eventually the market will be saturated with 95s and his price will drop. Hes also a right handed first baseman which there are plenty of. Still a good card that will be useful for a lo g time but his price will drop for sure

hey, whenever i use pinpoint on my series x with the controller, when im moving the analog stick in a circle to throw like a circle change, the analog stick is like bumpy and laggy. anyways i could fix that?

@@willcha8127 set it to rookie then turn on dynamic difficulty that way it slowly gets more difficult as you get the hang of it. Leaving it on plain rookie will never help you get better but having the difficulty progressively increase as you start doing well helps a lot. 21 was my first time ever playing the show and thats what i did on it to get better at hitting. And im not amazing or anything but i went from rookie with dynamic difficulty and got to the point that i was able to win all star difficulty games within a few days. So now for 22 i started out on all star with the dynamic difficulty and imma use that to get better still

I feel like, if I hit a perfect motion on HoF difficulty, it's crap that there can still be a 10" variation on pinpoint... seems crazy

I am switching to pinpoint and starting to get it but I can’t throw breaking pitches out of the stretch any tips I feel like I have no time but it says I go too fast but it’s like I don’t have enough time to go slow

Pitch motion speeds are quicker out of the stretch to prevent base stealing

Make sure that one of the tabs is facing you. (The part that clips the kontrol freak on your controller) because when you pull down on it it will come off if not.

You can either put a small piece of glue (that’s if you always play the freaks on) but if not you can bunch a small piece of paper to make it tighter. I’ve had the same problem

Hey Ance… I have 21 of the prospect players and I’m wondering if I should sell them all or not. I think I have around 70,000 stubs sitting there and I don’t need the Adley card considering my cap is a good catcher. Should I keep the cards for later collections or sell?

Idk if you got a faulty controller with your console or what but PowerA are cheaply made and the stick tension is awful so Im shocked to hear someone recommend them and describe it as “buttery smooth” cuz they are anything but from my experience. And ive had several PowerA controllers over the years for cheap spares and have never once thought anything about them was better than the standard controller from microsoft.

Compared to the standard controller for MLB The Show it’s a way better experience. Pinpoint is basically impossible on a standard controller. And it isn’t just my controller, I’ve probably talked to 50 people who have the exact same experience

@@Ance see thats so strange to me cuz for pinpoint with me i want less tension on the sticks so PowerA and other budget brands are too much. I usually stick to pro controllers but Ive used regular microsoft ones before when batteries were dead in my scuf or elite and it worked just fine. The only thing I can think of is that the two standard controllers I have, one of them is a customized one from microsoft labs where you choose the colors and get it engraved, and the other is the limited edition 20th anniversary controller. Ive never actually used just a plain base model microsoft controller for MLB, so perhaps the customized and limited controllers have higher quality parts and/or sticks or something.

My videos are made for all people both new players and returning. A lot of people who are new won’t understand the basic premise of pinpoint or what settings they should use. Not necessary for you =/= not necessary for everyone.

Also most people on Xbox don’t realize how utterly broken the stand Xbox controller that comes with the console is. Informing people of that in order to improve their experience with the game/pinpoint is inherently necessary if one is going to better learn how to use Pinpoint pitching.
