I don't have a hole....I don't even have a poly tunnel!, yet I watched this entire repair video when I could be out doing much needed late season garden chores. Just can't help watching repair content! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ 😜😜😜. Now I wish there was a way to repair (or find!) the tiny hole somewhere Mr Raccoon put into my pond liner with his claw on one of his fishing expeditions! Grrrrrrrr!!!
I shouldn’t laugh but that thumbnail shows you can smile through anything. Think you did a fab job. I don’t imagine there’s many times people have such huge holes to repair. Great work
...and Valerie Singleton, Lesley Judd, John Noakes would like to commend you on the most dynamic sticky-back plastic repair of 2023. The award of The Golden Badger goes naturally to JB😂😂😂
I was so sorry to see that huge hole in your polytunnel! Thank you so much for turning it into a positive and showing us how to use the tape. It is so useful! You have done a great job and I am sure it is going to last for as long as the cover will! 😄👍🌸💕
Hope this will be your last repair needed and the pesky critters will find something else to destroy. lol I fixed my cheap plastic greenhouse with this tape and got a few more years out of it. It works great. Cheers JB. Thanks for continuing to inspire me to not be perfect, enjoy the process, get out there, and have fun! Please say Hello to Jess!
I would give you at least a 7/10 considering that you haven't done a hole that size before, plus it doesn't look to bad as long as it does the job that's all that counts. Take Care and Stay Safe, Barry (the Wirral)
Good repair job ..that's never coming loose .if as you've said it could be a badger and the scratches do seem to be too high for a fox I think that your main worry could be snails climbing up the inside of the tunnel badgers love them
just like new ;-) I had a bike or a twig go through my poly greenhouse when it was just new.. I cried not gonna lie. I wonder why horizontal first then vertical..as you overlap like roofshingles but the vertical strips don't have that same waterproofing..would make more sense to me to do it the other way..I know you followed the instructions (short first etc) but won't water be able to creep in now? you know what I mean. it looks great though and seems to let the same amount of light through. I hope the badgers/foxes stay away now
Yeah it's definitely a cry-tastic event isn't it? I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it held up though. Totally agree with your thinking now you've said that 🤔
JB, i always feel challenges like these are opportunities to learn something…..wether we wanted to or not.As usual, You did a great job and now we all have learned something new. My only suggestion to anyone who has to go through this is maybe use a scissor with a shorter blade. Would electric wire fencing be illegal in your area? Lol. Just wondering what can keep critters away. Good luck to you .❤
@@JBNat They can be pushed against so you don’t get trapped unlike a latch . I used one at home to stop my dog running out onto a busy road if the door was accidentally left open. The tension can be set at different levels. Burg Wachter DCSC217B DCB Satin Chrome Surface Mounted, Spring Loaded Door Closer. I’ve just realised your doors are sliding so you just need to pull them closed and put chicken wire on the lower section.
Has there been any talk yet about if and when the Potty Mouth might come back.I know it will be different without Steve but it was such a great show and I am sure it can still be.
@@DigwellGreenfingers I've loved all the theories people have had! One person said it was trying to get snails climbing up the inside of the plastic 😂 I think it's probably because I used chicken manure pellets or left fertiliser lying around but we might never know! No damage since the repair just yet.
I think you're being a bit overcritical of yourself. Looks like a damn good repair to me. You must have nerves of steel to do that on camera! Great thumbnail by the way hahaha 😂
Peek-a-boo I see you, ?Y'all don't have raccoons over there? Very good explanation of the steps and the behind the scenes activities ie cutting away serrated edge and clean with alcohol ect...I like how you shingled the tape when going up and overlapping the tape as you go up. Where as if you went top to bottom there could be many spots for potential of getting under the tape and weaken it. Good job from what I saw it should be 8 of 10 for sure.
Don't mean to be that guy but you are obviously getting hammered by something there jb,after seeing more damage every day since you showed us the first time I fear for your pollytunnel mate. You might need to get a wildlife camera to see what is actually damaging your pollytunnel before it gets to the point of you having to buy a new cover and it goes on and on if not dealt with,it's obviously something big
I've got a trail cam in the post! Since leaving the doors open they've not touched the tunnel again thankfully. Just doing what I can for now. Will make up some chilli spray too
So not Johnny then 😂😂 🪓🪓🪓. I wonder why it doesn’t rip down lower rather than apparently standing on its hind legs. But hopefully this is not a constant thing. I remember Jessie used citronella and it seemed to deter them. Have a great weekend, Ali 🥶🇨🇦 Ps while you have those scissors ✂️ handy fix the flap 😂😂 on the doorway
I wondered that! I think they can get more power if they lean back and then strike down on things with their weight. I've ordered a trail cam so maybe I'll see it in the tunnel! Thanks so much Ali, you too 😊
