Bea, I love your channel! Thank you so much for teaching so many things about Brazilian Portuguese! I don’t understand when to use QUE and when it’s not required between 2 verbs. “Nós temos que falar sobre negócious.” VS “Nós poderíamos ir de taxi.” Why does the first sentence require QUE and the second one doesn’t? Is that a show by itself? LOL! Thanks!
@PlainPortuguese

Olá! Thank you for the kind words!😊 Maybe to better understand those requirements, we should go all the back to the origins of Portuguese.😮 My advice, though, is to simply accept that *ter* is requires *que* whenever followed by another verb, *gostar* requires *de*,... and create sentences using them so that those combinations become to sound more natural.😊 I listed below some lessons in which I talk about other verbs that require prepositions when followed by other verbs. Hope it helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ev-YAQNFsN8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GHWYGBb7FKQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Gcf8u0zkfY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QsraaZzeKzc.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Anq3tnsjyBs.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H5bd0gzQx9Y.html

Sometimes it sounds like you're saying que (Kay), and sometimes it sounds like you're saying que (Kee). Am I hearing that correctly, and how do we know when to use one versus the other?
@PlainPortuguese
@PlainPortuguese 2 месяца назад
Olá! Tudo bem? Good question! You are hearing correctly! When the letter E is at the end of a word and has no written marks on (when it is unstressed), it may be reduced, making it sound like *kee.* 😊 I talk more about that and some other vowel sounds in the following lesson. - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5ZR_9ADvopo.html

You may say that you are still learning Portuguese and then ask them to repeat more slowly or write down what they said, so you can translate it into English or another language. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2qp2KC_lmGw.html
