You need to make sure your normals are formatted correctly as well, or they will be flipped and your textures wont look quite right

hi! how do i make sure they are formatted correctly? if they are not, what can i do to fix it?

@@erickh555 You can choose whether your project uses DirectX or OpenGL normals when you first start your substance painter project. I believe all normals from quixel are OpenGL format. To convert from openGL to directX, just invert the green channel of the normal. You can do this in photoshop, or in substance painter, add a "levels" filter to your layer, change to affect "normal" and from RGB set it to affect only the green channel. Then you can just press invert and that will invert the green channel of the normal map, and it should start looking a bit better, less like the mesh is a bit inverted at the surface

Hello! please tell me, if you use textures from Megascans, for example, bricks or something like that for the exterior, do you need to add a dirt generator to the substance printer for walls, for example, or Megascans materials already have excellent detail, including dirt, and there is no need to use a dirt generator?

Well, that totally depends on what kind of texture you're using. If you're using a dirty texture then you won't need any generators.

If you've a unreal engine license which is free then you can login into Quixel using unreal engine account and download all the assets for free.
